  1. I know they probably won't win, but if I were Mayer I'd still wait with the champagne until at least Janka, Baumann and Striedinger (45, 52 and 53) are down at the bottom
  2. Mostly because it was an old record that Vonn broke after more than three decades. Now it's a pretty new record and new records being broken is like 'meh'.
  3. Makes me kind of giggle when haters in the Netherlands keep repeating their "No country outside of the Netherlands even competes in speed skating" tantrums 10 is surpassed easily
  4. It sounded vaguely familiar, but not very Any word on where Tim Singer went today? I mean, I was expecting four guys to jump on that luge sled when I heard John Morgan
  5. John Morgan commentating today instead of Tim Singer. Obviously we know him from skeleton and bobsled, but personally I didn't know he made his commentating debut at the 1981 world championships....at the race where his brother - driving one of the American sleds - broke his neck and died in a crash
  6. Then again, of those who did so today (Røiseland, Mironova, Wierer and Davidova) only Davidova is sort of surprising. It's still a 5th course time for Herrmann
  7. Excellent job for Kaukenas
  8. Excellent start for Dale
  9. Too bad, Crnkovic gave away something really, really good with two standing misses. Kaukenas though, starting good.
  10. Yes, that's the kind of list I want so badly because it's important, but IBU says no.. I think I've once seen it's not behind that login wall, but am not entirely sure.
  11. Prepare for destruction on the final climb.
  12. No, this has been one of my main annoyances for a few years now: IBU makes such a big deal of these points but they are not published anywhere. Well, I once stumbled upon a PDF apparently hosted by the Canadian federation of the standings after some trimester, but there is no place where it's simply updated. Look at FIS: it can be so incredibly easy, but IBU just outright refuses it. It's a highly important list for smaller nations, yet it's nowhere to be found and keeping track of it manually has proven to be practically impossible.
  13. No, IBU qualifying points are only available in the sprint and individual and - since they exist - also the supersprint qualifying and the short individual.
  14. Apparently the Netherlands has one naturalized native from both Micronesia and Nauru Zero from the Pitcairn Islands, which is probably a good thing considering the abuse scandal over there. I'm quite surprised to see six people from the British Indian Ocean Territory and even eight (!) total from Ascension, Saint-Helena and Tristan da Cunha https://opendata.cbs.nl/statline/#/CBS/nl/dataset/37325/table?dl=2A1C6
  15. I hate it in the IBU Cup though, one less opportunity to get IBU points.
  16. I really don't think we should think too highly of how much money 'the Dutch' invest in them/the Dutch luge program
  17. You're going for American proportions?
  18. It tastes exactly the same as it does in the summer.
  19. I'd have jumped out of the class window if we had been forced to undergo psychology and even worse, philosophy classes at school. Yuck. I'm all in favour of more native history though, especially in a time where more and more and more of the kids in school don't get any 'native history' (meaning, from the country they're living in) from home, since they're from different places.
  20. Romed Baumann competes for Germany now after his marriage (to a German woman)
  21. This looks delicious
  22. Sure. I like to get something cheap when there's something I want and if I can get it significantly cheaper by waiting a month for some week with a lot of deals, I'll gladly do so
