  1. Yes, but there are plenty of situations where you actually do have some sort of actual condition, and a TUE can function to level the playing field. I'm not saying it's not misused, sadly it is and very often at that, but abolishing it entirely is the other (also wrong) extreme.
  2. Did anyone else get Arturs Darznieks singing "It's raining man, hallelujah" during Stakhiv/Lysetskiy's run in the relay? He is such an awesome guest commentator, I wish he did every race in which he isn't racing himself. Last week he dropped a bombshell about Sics and Sics: "Did you know they are brothers?"
  3. But thinking everyone with a TUE fakes an illness is plain stupid, I hope you don't mean that.
  4. Banning TUE's entirely would be just as terrible for sports.
  5. Jesus you really never read any thread before you post something do you? Did you hear the Norwegians had a couple of thousands of doses of asthma medicine?
  6. Meaning instead of an idiotically long travel (after two 11+ hour rides to and from Nove Mesto in the past few days) the Brazilian/Irish/Australian team only has a one and a half hour drive now, excellent
  7. Yep I forgot to post that, last night's Dutch broadcast had 34k viewers. Obviously that's not the total amount of viewers in the Netherlands, since not everyone has this channel and it was also shown on the BBC, which pretty much everyone with a normal TV subscription does have. And then there's the more regular NFL fans, a large portion of whom watched on FOX Sports (the one where the main 'free' channel had 34k viewers), but the international channel (with US commentary) which isn't counted in the stats + those that watched online streams
  8. Good timing, because wonderboys Fuglsang and Lutsenko, together with several other Astana-Kawasaki's, are on the Teide right now
  9. I meant a 'decent' number if countries, whatever 'decent' may be. I think for the Super Bowl a huge amount of countries have viewers as well of course, but in most of those countries it's probably only a rather low number of diehards compared to the Champions League final.
  10. Right, I forgot about the CL final Way more viewers and decent numbers in way, way more countries I presume. In terms of spectators it can't get close to the Indy 500 (and many other races) but that's not entirely a fair comparison given the fact a race track generally can hold more people than a normal stadium
  11. Now I'm rather curious which annual sport event(s) is/are that much bigger
  12. I'm only saying what boatloads of travellers who've been there say after seeing stuff, it's not without reason a lot of people mention certain parts of the world when asked about the least clean places they've been. Not blaming the people at all, I know it's harder to have good hygienic conditions in poorer regions for example. Instead of blaming them, I'm worried for them. I'm much less worried about some cases here and there in more developed countries, simply because it'll be harder to spread around and because medical care is (generally speaking) most likely better.
  13. By Vince McMahon. Well if that doesn't sound like something I'm going to ignore hard, I don't know what does.
  14. They might have the means, but terrible hygiene will make it a lot harder... I have not much doubt a city like Wuhan has better financial and technological means of containing it and that ain't going very well.
  15. As long as there's not 100+ cases yet in India or (big cities in) Africa, it'll be fine
  16. In handball the commentators are like "wow what a goal!". Let me tell you about the sport BIATHLON: the goal is way smaller and you have to shoot after skiing hard! And the bullets aren't even filled with some sticky material to make them easier to catch like in handball!
  17. Basically my thoughts...until I actually started watching now and then and realized how incredibly wrong and ignorant my thoughts were
  18. Both that and the "We are proud of you!!" is rather stupid....like they represented the country in something international
  19. The presentation of the Vince Lombardi Trophy must be one of the most soulless moments in sports every time
  20. Time for a quick dash to bed, every minute counts
  21. What a weird end of the game Chiefs win it
  22. Not if you need that long to figure it out.
  23. Wonderful how the biggest Dutch online community is down for 10-15 minutes every single day around 03:40 for backup purposes. The NFL thread is rather active during the Super Bowl (even at this time of night) and now the potentially deciding play happened during the downtime
  24. All fun and well how FOX has those graphics projected 'on the field', but it's rather annoying when the players are blocking the virtual numbers Which is just bullshit, because the whole point of projecting graphics is sort of to have it so that one can always see it.
