  1. Whereas it used to define (at least better than now) who the best overall racer is. Both in events where it's purely about one's own quality as well as in events where tactics play a big role. It shouldn't be completely one or completely the other, but a mix of all things track cycling has to offer (individually).
  2. Braspennincx beat Starikova. Starikova easily beat Lee. Lee easily beat Hinze. Hinze easily beat Braspennincx (yesterday).
  3. I've grown to see it as a sort of Formula 1-like format: the first three events are the qualifying. They obviously count, but don't nearly decide anything major (unless you finish last all the time), and mostly give some slight advantages for the actual race.
  4. And Sahrom, who caused that crash yesterday, was already out. Karma is having a field day
  5. That might be more a matter of a lack of quality... Madison, together with individual sprint, really are the classic track events, they should always be in the program.
  6. Now come on Paul, Awang, Wakimoto, all guys I want to see in the final. And an Olympic keirin final in Tokyo needs a Japanese rider!
  7. But then it's still a nonsense event with only endurance and nothing else. Omnium really, really needs at least something short in it. Flying lap, 500m time trial, whatever, it's bullshit to have it as an endurance-only event, takes the whole reason to have an omnium in the first place out of it.
  8. I've seen others do that as well (though less often). I can't imagine those suits are anywhere near comfortable to wear, so I can understand making it less tight as soon as it's not necessary anymore
  9. Paul through Both Suriname riders Tjon and Fa through
  10. Those randomly exploding tires at any given moment I'll stick with going to the way more quiet swimming, ski jumping, biathlon and such thank you very much
  11. There was a perfect reason to neutralize the race though, and with that, the race had to be restarted or else there'd be no result.
  12. Especially in the women's field, where most scratches are done without any sort of attack at all.
  13. The official is being transported out of the stadium, but she's moving, so that's good. Seemed to be the one who got the worst hit.
  14. Race should absolutely have been neutralized, but the official who is supposed to do so got hit hard by a couple bikes as well, so yeah...
  15. Oh damn, half the peloton down in the second-to-last lap of the women's omnium's scratch
  16. Sadly that seems highly unlikely to ever really happen But that'd be amazing!
  17. Good chance they would not have the training and support they have now though... On a side note, Nageeye (I don't know about Abdi) is also very active in trying to set things up for Somali school children and trying to improve their chances of doing sports. He is a great example for both the Netherlands and Somalia
  18. Nageeye gesturing to Abdi like "Come on, let's go!"
