  1. Putin is a megalomaniac dictator, but he is not stupid, let's be honest He knows attacking Sweden can only end up costing him way more than it could give him. Sweden might not be a NATO country, thinking that a military attack on Sweden would not be answered would simply be dumb (and I'm sure Putin is smart enough to know that).
  2. Oh boy. I didn't pay much attention four years ago, but I will try to do so now (for cross-country at least, I don't think I have the mental energy to focus on anything besides that ). I wonder what it will all look like during this process. Like, will there at some point for example be a green bar or something over a country that has accepted X spots? Or a red one over a country which has accepted only part of their spots? Who knows! And if I'm not mistaken, the process to reallocate any unused spots will start Wednesday (and basically finish the same or next day), so I assume after Tuesday we'll have a list of unused spots, if any..
  3. The adrenaline of really fighting for an actual World Cup podium, I guess (in a 'mass start' race, so you can actually see the podium/win in front of you)
  4. Strolia is just utterly exhausted and exploded. Respect for the attempt though, saving energy earlier to have a better pace now would most likely have simply not put him in the position to fight for a podium. So all in all, fantastic effort for him, again
  5. Yeah, this was handled piss-poorly on every possible side... Well, I hope he can refocus on whatever comes after the AO and I hope the AO will be a good tournament and this whole thing can be kind of left behind.
  6. Results are on the FIS website, with Duda getting 292 points (and so not improving her total result). That means, when taking the internal criteria into account (classic distance races, freestyle sprints, in selected countries and competitions, including Slavic Cup and Balkan Cup and such), this should be the final table: Final standings: 1. Jaque 1201.02 2. Bruna 1504.71 3. Duda 1635.26 4. Mika 1709.23 The Brazilian NOC will make the official announcement tomorrow in a live event at 15:00 CET. So it has yet to be announced, but half of the Zweisimmen-Sparenmoos snow has been melted by Bruna's tears when she called me/us and I gave her the finish times
  7. D-Day, the final day in Olympic qualifying. Live timing for the Swiss championships, where the Brazilians are racing, can be found here: https://www.protiming.ch/rr-live-634.aspx 5k for all the women's categories (which should probably mean that the senior, U20 and U18 results will be put together in one results list in terms of FIS points), 10k for junior men and 15k for senior men, classic.
  8. So, Bruna beat Duda by 3 seconds or so today. She got 279 points, Duda got 307, which brings us to this situation, with only tomorrow's 5k classic to go: Mika is now officially out, she has no theoretical race anymore in which to get her sprint average under 300 and even if she did, she'd be 4th in points anyway. Duda needs to get under 153 points tomorrow to even have a chance. If she scores 153.00 or more, she will end up with more (and so, worse) points than Bruna's current total. That is, of course, if Bruna doesn't improve her 281.10 points. If she does that, Duda will need to get under 153 minus Bruna's improvement. In short, it's looking more than excellent for Bruna.
  9. Meanwhile, this weekend is the deciding one everywhere, so also for Brazil. The current situation: Unless there is some insane miracle, Mika is out. And Jaque is of course in, as she definitely should be. After the Serbian situation, which wasn't as much the federation's fault as we originally thought (so that situation can be rectified), Bruna, Duda and Mika will compete in the Swiss championships in Zweisimmen this weekend, freestyle sprint tomorrow, 5k classic Sunday. The main thing to look at is the fight for the second ticket, Bruna against Duda, with Bruna being 141 points ahead at the moment. With an equal sprint result tomorrow, Duda will make up a maximum of 60 points (since she has a 481 and Bruna a 421 that can be pushed out). If that's the case, Bruna is 81 points ahead after tomorrow's race, which already means Duda would need a 181 classic result even if Bruna doesn't start/finish/score on Sunday. Of course with every point Bruna gets under 281 on Sunday, Duda would need to get under 181 in the classic. Again, that is all in case they come up with equal points tomorrow. It could be 99% decided in tomorrow's race, but who knows. Start at 10:04 and 10:06, live timing here: https://www.protiming.ch/rr-live-658.aspx Nerves....this is it.
  10. It's weird, normally at least FIS has it on their website, but...nothing. Their Olympic schedule is less detailed than that of a Continental Cup And on the official Beijing website, the trial round for the ski jumping is listed, even though - unlike the PCR - that is really nothing more than a training.
  11. Where is the full schedule? And this time Totallympics doesn't help out @hckošice There is this: But that also doesn't show the entire schedule. I need the provisional competition rounds in my schedule
  12. Huge favourites....not sure, several teams are simply too strong to mention one single team as the huge favourite in my opinion. But they absolutely should be among the main favourites, no doubt. I went for 6 golds, by the way. M 1000 M 1500/5000/10.000 M team pursuit/mass start W 1000/1500 W 3000/5000 W mass start/team pursuit As always, it can go many ways. We don't need to see any huge surprises to end up with the Netherlands getting 9 gold medals...or 2.
  13. Not without some promise though, to be fair. It's not exactly the heyday of Canadian XC skiing, but I'd say there's hope.
  14. Project Cedars of God is going well (not Bogota-level well, but still) https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/general/event-details.html?sectorcode=CC&eventid=49756&seasoncode=2022 I sure wonder why this Czech with his 50 FIS points is competing in Lebanon of all places........
  15. Is there a full schedule available yet somewhere? Both the official website and Wiki don't show the start times for each run, but show something like this: I want to know which run starts when, like in the IBSF previews:
  16. I do assume the actual races are here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cedars_Ski_Resort But wow, this 'Cedars of God' makes for interesting reading. Apart from being stunningly beautiful, it is also entirely rich with history, thousands of years back!
  17. As mentioned in the IBU Cup thread....she was a DNS there today. I wondered if maybe, just maybe she would try another cross-country race, with the Argentina-organized races in Lebanon (Cedars) by far being the 'easiest' option in terms of results (maybe not so much in terms of travel). And guess what....
  18. Hmm...I wonder.... https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/general/event-details.html?sectorcode=CC&eventid=49756&seasoncode=2022 Who knows? Edit: Wow, mind = blown Look at this!
