  1. Damn, that 190kg behemoth from Egypt
  2. Little late to the party because I realized I don't really have time to watch as much as I'd want, but is there really only one medalist in the women's 500m (speed skating track) because all three other finalists were DQ'ed? Surely there's a contingency plan in the sport in case that happens, like in shorttrack?
  3. Which wouldn't happen though. Biathlon is used mostly for the money and equipment one gets for starting in IBU races, which is then used for some athletes in the cross-country program.
  4. 600 euro earned so far, that's so bad it's impressive. Time for an angry letter from Vino. 1. Jumbo-Visma 82140 euro 2. UAE Team Emirates 37210 3. Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl 30520 4. Ineos-Grenadiers 23780 5. Team BikeExchange-Jayco 23620 6. EF Education-EasyPost 20610 7. Alpecin-Deceuninck 15830 8. Israel-Premier Tech 14200 9. Intermarché – Wanty Gobert 14020 10. Team Arkéa-Samsic 4910 19. Lotto-Soudal 4290 20. Team DSM 3850 21. B&B Hotels-KTM 3700 22. Astana – Qazaqstan Team 600
  5. No idea how old this is, but since by coincidence I picked it up from the Dutch commentator today: apparently Red Bull will stop with the production and it's affiliation with MTB after this year Discovery will take over, although it's still entirely unsure what will happen with the TV rights and such. And somehow I highly doubt we'll get the same commentators. Plus I wonder if downhill will keep playing a role, or if that not being Olympic means they'll break downhill's neck.
  6. Yeah, this was just a festival of mistakes left and right on both sides. Not unlike how most of the goals this entire tournament have been made possible so far
  7. The boss of the Brazilian snow sports federation is apparently running for a position in the IBU Executive Board. Wouldn't have guessed that https://www.biathlonworld.com/news/press-release-elections-ibu/1WgNEyHEG4YzlgxOz8py4I Which is odd, since they really don't do anything with biathlon in the first place.
  8. 1. Filippo Ganna (4) - 4 2. Fabio Jakobsen (1) - 5 3. Mads Pedersen (12) - 17 4. Peter Sagan (5) - 22 5. Mathieu van der Poel (81) - 103 6. Michael Matthews (2) - 105 7. Nairo Quintana (15) - 120 8. Thomas Pidcock (10) - 130 9. Aleksandr Vlasov
  9. After going to the place where David Lappartient is the mayor, then going to the place where David Lappartient was born, we now go to the place where David Lappartient works, all three of those places making their debut. But no conflict of interest at all for mister "a Russian oligarch/team owner made me UCI president so he could be more involved in decisions"
  10. At least it has a bit more potential than the Planche of yesterday, where as expected literally nothing interesting happened in the entire stage until the last 200 meters
  11. Kind of funny, the Cali commentators, they don't really know what's going on I think All surprised about the NZL women being utterly destroyed by China in the team sprint 1st round (as in, 5+ seconds, which is insane)....but that wasn't NZL's women's team sprint team, it was their pursuit team taking care of the honours not long after their pursuit race
  12. Just noticed it now that I'm putting the schedule into my own schedule, but which dimwitted simpleton decided to have the women's 400m and 400m hurdles finals on the same day?
  13. If we're going to mainly ride around in a region called Pogacar, yes
  14. "Twin Towers collapsed after contact with planes was lost."
  15. 1. Filippo Ganna (4) - 4 2. Fabio Jakobsen (1) - 5 3. Mads Pedersen (12) - 17 4. Peter Sagan (5) - 22 5. Mathieu van der Poel (81) - 103 6. Michael Matthews (2) - 105 7. Nairo Quintana
  16. Ah, it's not the regular Planche des Belles Filles, but the SUPER Planche des Belles Filles. The money really grows on trees there, doesn't it? We're almost going there more often than to Paris since it's debut, which feels like it was decades ago but is actually only 2012
  17. Just in case it wasn't clear, Pogacar will probably lock down the Tour de France today (if he hasn't already done so), one week in The next 20 years we'll get Tour de France's which are just as exciting as those in Armstrong's and Froome's days, although now they'll be decided earlier.
  18. To be fair, there was basically no major complaint whatsoever about this before the stage yesterday. It's not necessarily worse than those default mountain stages where the hardest parts are in the end, leading to a stage where literally nothing happens until the last half kilometer Personally I am very much in favour of cobblestone stages in the Tour de France, just not every year. Once every few years is fine. It's a specific part of cycling and a GC winner should be able to handle a large diversity of terrain.
  19. Because this fucker needed to get a video from a little closer.
  20. 1. Filippo Ganna (4) - 4 2. Fabio Jakobsen (1) - 5 3. Mads Pedersen (12) - 17 4. Peter Sagan (5) - 22 5. Mathieu van der Poel (54) - 76 6. Michael Matthews
  21. Ah come on, let's have some hope for some fight for the yellow left. Pogacar getting it today means we might as well finish the rest of the Tour in writing
  22. Pogacar can start the mountains with a 3 minute advantage this way, what a fantastic mess
