  1. Your guess is as good as mine on that.. I'm still hoping I'm wrong of course.
  2. The qualifying document for boxing is one of the most annoyingly complicated, so I'm not 100% sure, but it's not looking good..
  3. Well time to kill the happiness. Apparently Lacruz hasn't complied with the Dutch standards (yet). Nobody knows exactly what he has to do.. Dutch boxers who won a quota in Baku had to be in the top-16 of last year's world championships (he was one fight short of that) or in the "top-x" at the European OQT. The "x" would be decided once the strength of the participants is known, but nothing is known about that yet. However, since he lost in the preliminary round, he's probably not going to Rio..
  4. I would certainly device a special greeting for Totallympics that only people here would recognize Apart from that: Lacruz! Unbelievable, we'll have three (!!) boxers in Rio...to think we haven't even had one boxer in my entire conscious lifetime.. (4 if Korving somehow pulls of another miracle..)
  5. This is also the reason I'm guessing most of Europe is very firmly behind Ireland in that match
  6. Found it http://www.espn.in/olympics/story/_/id/16315456/dutee-chand-wins-silver-misses-rio-mark
  7. Thanks! Do you have a link about that or something? All-athletics has no results of her
  8. Is that an answer to my question?
  9. Hello Do any of you have any idea when Dutee Chand might be running again? Her last competition as far as I can see has been on 30 April, but I'm curious when she'll be back in action..
  10. That's mostly because the qualifying procedure is quite complicated with all the rankings and point calculations of all different championships and so on
  11. Say what you want, but at least IWF seems to be actually fighting this crap. I mean, taking all these quotas away, even banning entire nations...that's some serious shit they're throwing down
  12. By the way, Dutch media is apparently already 100% sure that the ban for these three nations will start before the Olympics, meaning they'd miss the Olympics entirely. Any other media in other nations reporting the same? Because as far as I know, IWF hasn't confirmed at all when the bans would start. Though it makes sense if it happens before the Olympics, because I'm guessing they'd start as soon as all the cases are confirmed by the IOC.
  13. Indeed it's a shame people only care about the more famous athletes Oh well, luckily the less famous athletes have the real sports fans to support them as well
  14. No Turks driving around their cars and honking everywhere around the Dutch cities ("Toeterturken" as they're called in Dutch, something as "honkingturks" )
  15. Awesome Congratulations Ireland and the best fans of the tournament
  16. Yeah Dutch tv screwed up But they have to keep the advantage? A draw would kill them?
  17. What has to happen for Ireland to go through?
  18. I hope so, because otherwise a year ban would mean shit. World Championships are probably after that year ended I guess..
