  1. Oh and Barguil thinking he won, only to discover it was actually Uran who won the sprint (which is quite impressive since Uran only had two gears left: small and big )
  2. What a stage yesterday....Manuele Mori screaming in pain, Robert Gesink DNF again with bad luck (when in great shape, this sucks so bad), Thomas out, one of Froome's main contenders out with Richie Porte after that horrible crash...Majka likely to be out or at least not in contention for a top-10 anymore.. The most annoying is Demare's day: he had to let go after literally around 200m and with his illness it was very clear that he would not make the time limit, no chance. Yet FDJ let Delage and Konovalovas ride with him all day, and Guarnieri later joined them, resulting in all four of them being out and FDJ losing half their team because of such a stupid decision..
  3. All chilling in the US now after winning the lottery
  4. Middle Sunday is over, time for the 1/8 finals in the men's and women's tournament today
  5. Because the forum was down yesterday, I wrote my stage 9 predictions on the Totallympics Facebook (before the stage started of course). My full post there was this I don't really understand the reason, but I see for example Bardet and Froome were no options, but instead it was 'Someone from France' and 'Someone from Great Britain' Since I was in time, I suppose my points will be counted in this way: 1. Someone from France 2. Someone from Great Britain 3. Richie Porte 4. Daniel Martin 5. Someone from France
  6. Does anyone know where to get a visa? I had this great lottery for it, but now there's just some sports forum there...I guess someone hacked my favourite US Green Card site..
  7. Demare in big trouble today.
  8. Our Algerian friend is your federation president?
  9. After 70km we finally seem to have the group of the day. It's only a small one...
  10. A Brazilian swimmer testing positive, surprise! What's next, a Russian race walker? An Azeri weightlifter?
  11. Chavanel has had quite a good breakfast apparently, that's his 50th attack today
  12. Yesterday getting in the breakaway was as easy as just getting on a bike, today it's quite a fight, almost as if there's just 5km to go
  13. Gesink in the front, if anyone deserves a TdF stage win, it's him! (although I'm expecting him to attack later on in the Tour, not this early, just like Rolland or Pinot)
  14. km0, let's go! Tsgabu on the attack already
  15. Logical that the viewing numbers go down, but damn, that's one pathetic decision by the national TV company if true
  16. Dylan Groenewegen had the highest speed in the sprint yesterday, this graph shows how good he actually is....his positioning sucks and he has no serious 'train' whatsoever which meant he was way behind with 500m to go, but in the last 700m he had a consideribly higher speed than Kittel and EBH at every moment, including an average of over 70km/h in the last 500m (which showed after the finish, when he was absolutely gasping for air like never before) If he'd ride for a good team and his positioning would get better, he would be quite hard to beat.
  17. Can someone find the helicopter images from today's last 600-700m? It's quite fun to see how horribly Sabatini was doing his work for Kittel: he got in the lead with 600m to go, and already 150m later he was finished and meanwhile Reinardt Janse van Rensburg powered past Sabatini/Kittel with EBH in his wheel Janse van Rensburg might easily be named the "Man of the Last Kilometer" today.
  18. By the way, another 170km or so in the lead of the peloton for Julien Vermote today, who yesterday already said he has been leading the peloton for around 700km so far this Tour. Incredible work by the 'engines' of the sprint teams, like Vermote for Kittel and Thomas De Gendt for Greipel, to name only two examples
  19. Stef Clement about this moment: "During a cycling race like the Tour, we actually see a ton of men's asses at the side of the road. So you're an adult man, standing at the side of the road for hours, looking at nothing....and when the peloton arrives and there's the 10 seconds in which you can actually see something, you turn around, drop your pants and show your ass...dude." Apparently trying to hit those asses with a water bottle or, even better, with some sticky lemonade-like drink in the bottle, is like a goal for cyclists
  20. Kittel is the clear winner
  21. Castroviejo, you have won the Tour de France. Forever
  22. Epic lacrosse goal
  23. I knew Hantuchova was good, but I had no idea she was in the top-100 for around 15 straight years Considering that and considering how long she was in the top-50 or something, this is a bit of a sad end to her career, spending your last year playing qualifiers and low-level ITF tournaments. I guess retiring is better than trying to get back to the glory days
