  1. 2000km away from today's Mexico earthquake, yet someone around there says they felt it https://www.emsc-csem.org/Images/INTENSITY_MAPS/61/619258/AUTOMATIC/AreaThreshold_5/EMS_98__RMW_Musson/LocMethod_PerClusterCity/DynamicClusters_MaxSize50/IntensityMapThumbnails.png?t=1505851468
  2. Irma and Maria, bitches
  3. Around 100km to the south of the city, 30km of depth. That's not very deep, but not super shallow neither...that might give some hope.
  4. That's just horrible luck... It's already getting a little stormy in St Croix
  5. And 5... It hit Dominica as 5, weakened a bit over the mountains there, then fairly soon early today it got back to 5 after it left Dominica. I do not want to be in St Croix (USVI) and Puerto Rico now..
  6. Van Vleuten So incredibly good to see her take this huge prize after the drama in Rio (for those who forgot: well in the lead in the final lap, then had a horrendous, nearly neck-breaking fall in the downhill where at first people thought she might not survive). She was rather emotional after the interview: "I was wearing these earrings in Rio as well and my mom said they gave me luck, because I survived. I got them from my dad (who isn't alive anymore), so when we saw each other after the race, we both looked up to the sky for a bit."
  7. If the reports are to be believed, Dominica has more or less gone to absolute shit overnight thanks to Maria PM Skeritt: "We have lost everything that money can buy or replace."
  8. After that they'll go to Alpha, Beta etc
  9. Lee was weak from the start, turned into a tropical storm for a little bit and is already weakening again, that's not really a danger
  10. This is 2 hours ago and Maria is still 3-4 hours away from Dominica...this is gonna be a rough day/night for them.
  11. Wait what, this is already starting again?
  12. There's always a chance to see something different now. I've got nothing against Denmark, so it wasn't meant as something anti-Denmark, it's just notable (just like Australia always has great talents and in the end most of them end up being a C-level time trialist with a good result on a good day in a small race )
  13. Giro start in Israel, I still can't get which idiot thought that would be a fun idea
  14. It would be helpful if these kind of high-profile athletes at least write some English on their fan pages (luckily we have our private translator)
  15. 18-year old Mikkel Bjerg is absolutely destroying the entire field in the U23 time trial I've got a feeling this is the next in a long, long, long line of fantastic Danish juniors who disappear into nothingness as soon as they're a little older (maybe this time finally someone actually breaks through, but history learns that's not exactly to be expected)
  16. That's some heavy shit
  17. Being off by 30 points is better than being off by 50 points, that doesn't mean you should get some consolation prize for 30 points off
  18. So change 15 points in my example to 9 points Still makes no sense to get points for a difference of 9, when you predicting the losing team to win by 9. You're 18 points off and got the wrong winner, no reason to get any points for that.
  19. Player A predicts Team B to beat Team C by 15 points difference. However, Team C actually ends up beating Team B by 15 points. I can't see any logical reason why someone should even get any point at all for that prediction, because he's 30 points off! It shouldn't be "Well you got the difference right, here's some good points!", it should be "You were entirely wrong, here's no points!". And if Team B ends up beating Team C by 1 point, Player A should still definitely get points (way more than for predicting the right difference), because in the end predicting the winners is the most important thing. But, as Wanderer said, this discussion will soon start for next year, so by then these posts could be moved
  20. Slovenia was the (small) favourite, so it wouldn't be that weird if people went for Slovenia to win
  21. Here we go again, almost the same islands that were hit by Irma are about to get the full force of Maria today/tomorrow.
  22. Oh well, the season barely even started, the real races are in the winter in the snow and mud and rain and everything
  23. I do like the Premier League, sort of, but I couldn't give a damn about this Champions League Again the same group of players UK Open is much nicer for example, or the Grand Slam of Darts.
  24. Tuned in just in time to see the last 3 darts Although to be honest I think there's too many of these tournaments. Every time they add one, all others lose a bit in significance..
