  1. Anyway, we shouldn't read to much in youngsters results. Past junior and youth world championships medals tables are filled with people who didn't had any success at senior level (and from every nation). By their results at a young age, Simon Fourcade should have dominated the world of biathlon, not Martin.
  2. Guigonnat most likely or Claude on his current form.
  3. Which would be the worst possible outcome. A soulless venue that we already have seen 20 years before. Yeah, the excitement. Anyway, when there is a will, there might be a way. I remember the Arenes in Nimes being covered in the early 90's which hosted a few handball and tennis matches.
  4. Different procedure with little to do with the host. I don't see the IOC introduce it just to scrap it in 2030, nor I see it as a permanent olympic discipline.
  5. The Arena Civica in Milano (built in 1807 !) could host the speed track events https://milano.repubblica.it/cronaca/2021/02/02/news/una_pista_di_ghiaccio_all_arena_cosi_milano_fa_le_prove_per_le_gare_olimpiche_di_pattinaggio-285576944/
  6. Yes, Beijing choosed not to add any new sport. There are very little to chose from anyway, the only 3 recognized winter federations not already present at the winter games being : Ski Mountaineering, Bandy and Climbing (ice climbing).
  7. Lavillenie at 6.02m after a perfect run And now trying ... 6.20m https://www.facebook.com/1502644776728547/videos/870311443538922 The last time, he tried himself at the WR, he was much younger and injured himself. Edit: all right nothing happened, but he is still alive
  8. They were a dozen of vélodromes built in northern Africa, the better exemple being the Stade Municipal in Algiers (opened in 1930, 400m track, host of a six days race, etc...) The stadium still exist today, the track is still there but probably hasn't been used in decades.
  11. Still-not-dead-yet
  12. Congrats to Sweden. I hope they'll win win the whole thing. Not sure if we were awful or Swedes fantastic ?
  13. I believe qualifications events are going to be the most challenging issues. I expect a lot of delays and most likely some cancellations.
  19. It must be some technical point that could easily fixed right ? In most countries, the state is very much engaged in sports and dictate its will and who gets what.
  20. Thanks, but the videos are geoblocked here (it was on Eurosport Player)
  21. Contrary to a common opinion, I believe the IOC should be given some credit when it come to the standards they have been setting for the olympic venues. They are very ok with temporary venues, they are ok with stadiums that seat only 4 or 5,000 spectators, they are not asking stands that seats thousands of VIPS on golden seats. They are even ok now with using facilities in another country, etc. When you compare it with the other giga sporting event, namely the FIFA World Cup, it's really day and night. There are not a lot left they can do in that regard to cut costs except dropping some sports only because they are requiring an extra venue which as far as I'm concerned is the last sensible reason why a sport should be dropped from the olympic program.
  22. Official: Bradbury golds are the best golds It's also the first gold medal for a french relay in an international championship
  23. Yes, french relay if officially qualified for Krakow 2023
