  1. Both handball and hockey ending before the final weekend is just sad! If I can only go for a week, I guess I would go for the first one to get some triathlon, rugby and mountain bike action while track cycling would be the main thing in the 2nd half.
  2. Huh? Tahiti is behind France. It's saturday evening/night in France but saturday morning on Tahiti.
  3. On the graves of thousands of migrant workers?
  4. on the way to joining the boycott of the deadly Championships.
  5. Have watched 3 of the main movies (Dune, West Side Story and King Richard) and really enjoyed all 3. I have Nightmare Alley and Flee on my watchlist and may also go for The Power of the Dog and CODA.
  6. Would certainly love discussing the rights of Tibetans and people from Kashmir, but maybe the doping thread isn't quite the place?
  7. In no way saying that India should host, but in 2036 that's 26 years ago. How long does it take before they'll be allowed to forget those Games?
  8. I really don't mind the polls, but I really have a hard time voting for a lot of them. Sometimes I feel I have a decent opinion on some of the votes but no idea on others but I have to vote in all the polls. Therefore I don't end up voting all the time, because I don't want to "ruin" the poll. Making it possible to pass some of the votes would make it easier.
  9. The first 2 attempts have been pretty anticlimactic
  10. Graversgaard wins her heat! The magic of the hurdles!
  11. The machine clearly showed her moving before Perez, but moving before the gun is apparently legal as long as you don't leave the position. According to the Danish commentators, she was only DQ'ed because her hand actually touched the line.
  12. I'm half Swedish but that was without doubt the right decision in the end. BS rule that she could get out of that movement!
  13. I'm no fan of TikTok, but it is a huge platform from where a lot of people get their information. Working with influencers seems like a very logical step, also to prevent misinformation.
  14. According to Danish news, Gabriel "Iffe" Lundberg is set to join Phoenix Suns and thereby become Denmark's first NBA player! He played for CSKA Moscow but officially cancelled his contract yesterday.
  15. Table tennis and badminton are pretty clear to me (believe me, I really want to pick J-O, but Ma Long is ahead). Tough pick in tennis, but I ended up going with Serena though Graf was damn close.
  16. Quite a few experts say that it wasn't really close to any kind of disaster. Those plants are made to withstand quite a lot!
  17. No. I want it to be a way out of the ban that has been imposed by more and more federations and recommended by the IOC. Most sanctions sadly hurts the people just as much or even more than the leaders starting the wars. I'm pretty sure that a ban in sports will be tough on the Russian leaders as well considering how Putin and co. have used sports for politics, but it will certainly be tough on athletes and fans in Russia. Giving them a way out doesn't seem like such a bad idea to me (then we should certainly also be ready to support them if it give them trouble in their own country). It's a gray area, no doubt, but I'm sure there could be a way of letting some athletes get a chance. This should (and will) start a discussion on when to actually ban nations. Could have been the US and supporting nations (including my own) when invading Iraq, questioning on Israel, India-Pakistan and others. I don't know
  18. There's really no way to disconnect those two, sadly. Russia have been using sports for political purpose quite a lot. Personally I wouldn't mind Russian athletes participating as long as they unconditionally go against the invasion and show up without anything russian. Meanwhile people like Karjakin and Viatjeslav Barkov should be kept far away from international events. But also, I do think the IOC has a decent point. The invasion keeps Ukrainian athletes away as their country is under attack. Then let's keep the attacking nations away as well.
  19. Considering that the Olympics are pretty far away, they can't really do more.
  20. I'm seeing claims about people sleeping in line waiting for more cash for the ATMs.
  21. Meanwhile it's starting to sound like Belarus is going to send in troops as well!
  22. and joining in closing the airspace. Got to say, massive respect to how neighbouring countries are taking the task of welcoming refugees so far. Hearing some great stories from both Romania, Poland and Slovakia!
