  1. Why on earth did he appear there? Shouldn't Russian officials be suspended?
  2. by the way, there are three named Reale in Italian men's sabre team, are they triplets or what?
  3. isn't it odd that Pan Qimiao took part in junior and cadet events? and she was last year junior champion, what's the point to compete with cadets
  4. Russian gymnasts who have neutral status refused to take part in world cup because some gymnasts were denied neutral status. These idiots just piss me off
  5. Abdulrashid Sadulaev misses due to visa deny
  6. I'm also not a fan of child skaters, but the age limit should be lifted more smoothly, not a year by year. This scheme makes 10-year old skaters wait five years to take part in the events, while 11-year olds will already be in
  7. Exactly! Miss it very much. Luckily it is still played by mistake from time to time
  8. Australia can produce talented players, but they get bored of tennis and prefer to retire being N1
  9. My theory is that there were not enough ice rinks for all figure skaters and ice hockey players in USSR, so only those who had a bigger chance for medals could properly train. Since there were good pairs and dancers (and ice hockey teams), why bother about women?
  10. I guess we have debut at any winter world champonships as Jeanee Crane-Mauzy (ex-) todays takes part in half pipe qualies
  11. I missed a moment when China completely disappeared from pair skating
  12. does bandy exist in Canada? I thought some failed ice hockey players could turn to it and at least make a team for world championships
  13. The 300m hurdles will become an official event
  14. The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and its partner Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) Sports confirm that the UCI Track Champions League was held for the last time in 2024, and that following this, the UCI Track Nations Cup will be revitalised from 2026.
  15. New Zealand is qualified for the third time after beating
  16. bad day for Doroschuk in high jumping, just 5th place with 2.28 for a 2.34 world leader
  17. I guess some rogue nations will stay in IBA especially if they don't have many chances at the Olympics
  18. the first one to win three world championships in women's moguls
  19. no Eileen Gu and Tess Ledeux in women's ski slopestyle
  20. and will boxing be available only to those nations who joined World Boxing?
  21. Angelina Melnikova is set to return on stage at World Cup in Croatia in April. Six more Russians will take part as neutrals
  22. yeah, there were some at the beginning (also Andrey Rublev, Fedor Smolov) but most of them didn't proceed. in 2023-2024 there was a campaign against artists, musicians and writers who protested in early 2022, but it didn't touch athletes for some reason. well, there's also a case of one former football player Igor Denisov who critisised authorities and now works as just a children coach
  23. just like Sabalenko's long-time flirting with Lukashenko
  24. maybe he will be renamed as Władek for the Olympics?
  25. there are two kind of athletes - those who stay in Russia and those who compete abroad only like tennis players and NHL players. domestic athletes didn't say any word, they are very quiet and never speak about politics, so it was easy to shut them. there was a case of Violetta and Serger Bidas who moved to USA and they were claimed like traitors, but that's all. I don't know any athletes who were punished while they stay in the country, although there are huge lists of punished writers, artists etc althletes abroad for some reason are not punished. those like Daria Kasatkina or Nikita Zadorov who spoke publicly on YouTube are still mentioned in news like athletes to be proud of. but I guess if anyone will speak in Western media, that will be a disaster for them, they won't return back
