  1. I'm always reading them with a lot of interest... should you stop doing them, it would be a big loss for the forum... p.s. the 5th quarter are we talking about the slaughter of a calf?
  2. we were complaining about a "traditional" (even if not so "ancient") event, well established in the Olympic program... here we are talking about a few events that have never been in the Olympic program and also many of them being basically the same thing, just changing the distance or the number of seconds between the single series... it's slightly different, I guess (because nobody is complaining about the 50m free pistol or the running targets -which are not here, too)... moreover, the main concern is about all these team events (most of them are really senseless, especially when you have only 3/4 teams showing up with the required 3 shooters and the result being the simple addition of the individual scores -at least the mixed events have a different format, which partially justify their existence)... p.s. and in any case, I'm not complaining because all those events exists...I was just saying that I'm losing count of the so many competitions that are scheduled in this event, with the most important ones just relegated to 1 day and not well spread through the entire week...

  5. and also the last Italian fighter still in the tournament has gone out... Salvatore Cavallaro (-75kg), in fact, earlier today was declared as the loser of the quarterfinals bout against the Brazilian joker Hebert Da Conceicao Sousa...a man who used to raise his arm after every punch (well off the target) he threw...once even after having taken a hit on his face... but despite that (and the fact that he landed just 1 punch in the entire match and went with his ass on the ground in rd.#1 -somehow not even counted by the ref.), Sadie Duffy, Yaroslav Renev, Manuel Vilarino and Shawn Reese (oh, once again this name among the judges when there's a controversial to say the least final result ) still saw the Brazilian as the winner of today's match... not that it was unexpected (especially by the Russian and the Irish judges, our political enemies since a very long time), but still...as a boxing fan, it hurts to see day after day how the Olympic Boxing is dying after corruption and interests that have nothing to do with the sport...
  6. now I'm also experimenting the blocked live broadcast on Youtube... but at least the live broadcast on the Thailand TAWA Facebook Page is working great... https://www.facebook.com/OfficialThailandTawa/videos/784069175346671/

  16. updated after this morning's repechage rounds...
  17. only because they adopt freaking wrong rules (and because of biased -if not corrupted- refs and officials)... with the rules they were using until 20 years ago, Greco-Roman wrestling was a lot more spectacular and offensive-minded... then someone started to say that it was not so "accasional viewer friendly" and they started to change the rules year after year...and always going in the wrong direction, giving refs too many responsibilities and chances to heavily influence the final outcome of every single bout... p.s. and it's not my/our fault if most people nowadays have the attention span of a hamster and/or can't appreciate a sport for what it is...
  18. yeah, when our great Giorgio Minisini (by far the best male in the sport right now) will be gone...
  19. I'm losing count of how many (in most cases redundant) events are contested in this championship... and we're still 4 days away from the only 4 that really matters...

  21. also there it's just a question of...
  22. guys, Greco-Roman Wrestling is the history of this sport...this is the discipline that was present since the very first edition of the modern Games...and it doesn't include women's competitions...point. I just wish all the worst to those who even think about a further cut to the Wrestling Olympic program... gender equality has really become an obsession that doesn't make any sense in the way it's intended right now... it's OK having a place for both men and women within the entire sport, but nobody should even think that they must have the same number of events and athletes, when it's more than obvious that no sport in the world has so many female participants as males (not to mention that a relevant part of the world doesn't support -to say the least- women's sport at all)... p.s. and someone should explain to me why nobody think about kicking artistic swimming and rhythmic gymnastics out of the Games program, as they blatantly reject any male presence (even when it should be possible to expand in that direction, but the IOC just said no to FINA when they proposed to switch from the all female duets to the mixed duets already in time for Tokyo 2020)? frankly, I have to repeat myself once again...I find irritating all this talking of this farce named gender equality...and even more I find annoying every kind of justification of this sh*t which is just destroying the world of the Olympic sports as it's always been appreciated by the only fans the Games can have...
