  1. 1984 it was the rai channels (rai1, 2 and 3...depending on the momento of the day, but never all together)... 1988 it was the rai channels, but also Telemontecarlo (summaries only) and, above all, TV Koper/Capodistria, which was namely the tv channel of the Yugoslav Italian Community, but it was bought by Silvio berlusconi at the beginning of that year and so they had a lot of sports events commentated in italian for the Italian audience... a few years later they broke out of TV Koper and became Tele+, our first pay-tv provider...and so on... p.s. thanks for your words...
  2. naaa... I'm pretty sure that Germany 2036 would quickly become a celebration of the 100th anniversary of the greatest Games of the last 100 years, Berlin 1936... they would even ask Leni Riefensthal's heirs to film the official movie...
  3. my "conscious" 10th Summer Games (I should count also the 1980 Olympics, but I was only 6 and frankly I don't remember almost anything of that period, even if I saw most things of those Games later)... definitely the worst of them all, because of the empty stands but above all because it's the first time without my beloved mom (who passed away 4 years ago)... not so sure I'm gonna enjoy the party as I'd like...too many disturbing memories... sorry for the OT...
  4. just watched the weather forecast for the next 14 days in Brisbane... Highs between 20 and 24° C, Lows at night between 8 and 12° C... Imho the proposed dates (July 23rd/August, 8th...just like this year) are a bit too ambitious and risky...better move to late August/early September... and don't tell me that there's no time to do it...it's 11 years from now...
  5. environmental audio and English commentary are available on every feed... More languages only on selected feeds... right now, in Italy we have basic coverage on JPN v AUS and CAN v MEX in Softball and BRA v CHN in Football; then we have also the Italian audio for ITA v USA in Softball and more audio tracks on GBR v CHI (8 plus the field sounds) and USA v SWE (14! likely all the Eusp versions available)...
  6. just swallow a big bottle of chamomile tea...
  7. to me it's a full new sport, even if administered by the same federation of an existing one... however, even if you're right, I'm pretty sure NTL won't be included in the 2026 Games' program...
  8. there should be at least also one male flagbearer, but I have no idea who is going to be...
  9. no idea...our media obviously only reported about Egonu (and they wrote she was carrying the Italian Flag, of course)...
  10. I only found this in English (the article I read was in Italian...and I think it was a poor translation of the original interview made by the German-speaking newspaper Bern Zeitung)... https://www.theindianpaper.com/athletics-even-alex-wilson-doubts-his-huge-100m-time/
  11. by the way, this is a clear proof of the Japanese hypocracy about the Games... the Olympics must go on behind closed doors, but their regular activity, Basketball National team warmup matches included, can be played with at least 50% capacity crowd...in the Tokyo Metropolitan Area, not on the Moon...
  12. he's proven wrong even before saying that by the Japanese Prime Minister, by the IOC President (Olympic Champion in Fencing in 1976 himself) Bach and by the Emperor of Japan, Naruhito, who confirmed he's going to the Opening Ceremony in full support of the Olympic Games...
  13. I think are not good enough in the starting pitchers' department (and relievers are also a bit suspect)... for sure, their bats will put on a show every time they play... I'm also curious to see if would match their Premier 12 level of play, even if they didn't start their campaign with the right mood (because of the covid cases within the team)...
  14. bot sure which strategy Seattle would use, but if it was my choice, I'd go for a immediate hunt for the cup (without any fear to invest most of the salary cap on expensive veterans)... there are so many top class players available that would be senseless going only for a bunch of youngsters looking at a future that could never come... I mean, Rask (goalie), Giordano, Edler (D), Landeskog, Tarasenko, Killorn (or Coleman), Danault (F)...just to name 6 or 7 players that could make a team dream of the top of the rankings...
  15. Paola Egonu (Volleyball) will carry the Olympic Flag at the opening ceremony on Friday... https://pledgetimes.com/tokyo-2020-the-italian-paola-egonu-will-carry-the-olympic-flag-at-the-opening-ceremony/
  16. very interesting roster for Nigeria's team (men)... https://www.premiumtimesng.com/sports/nigeria-sports-news/474649-tokyo-olympics-nigeria-name-final-squads-for-basketball-teams.html
  17. also the same Alex Wilson said in an interview that he's pretty sure he didn't run any record, most likely he wasn't even below the 10-sec mark (moreover, he confirmed he had a flyer and that there was no regular starting blocks)... basically, there is no chance for that clocking to be registered as official (unless someone is really corrupted at WA and EAA)...
  18. yesss! 5 events: men and women's Sprint race; men and women's Individual race and Mixed Team Relay... 24 quota for men, 24 quota also for women (obviously)... now I hope our politicians won't start any stupid fight to host the sport and our NOC chooses the wonderful, unmatched landscape of the Dolomites to stage all of those races... I'm sure we already have the pictures of the Games, if not the pictures of the history of the Games... unfortuantely, those idiots of the IOC once again totally ignored Natural Track Luge, because Japan, USA and many others can add their most successful sport to increase their medal chances at their disposal (even if for a single edition of the Games), but Italy just can't...
  19. talking of Japanese baseball... well, 3 of the 12 NPB teams are located in Tokyo and 3 more in the greater Tokyo Metropolitan area (1 in Yokohama, where the Olympic Baseball tournament will be staged)... and they all had 20% capacity crowd in their stadiums until last week (when the championship stopped to make room for the Olympics)... in the rest of Japan the allowed audience was even higher, up to 50% capacity (Fukuoka)... so, to me, it's only the usual hypocracy...it's the Japanese political forces of the opposing parties (and their supporters in the industrial conglomerates, like Toyota or Rakuten) trying to make the government look stupid and not taking care of the local population... they are pure shit (I'm well used to it, since it reminds me the exact behaviour of our politicians...but I never thought in Japan they were so similar to us)...
  20. that's a bad loss for the Czechs (no chance their pair can play the tournament...they will have to replace him with a reserve, if they have one...and nothing will be the same)...
  21. their Olympics is done and dusted...no matter if they got the virus or not, but right now no athlete can afford a 5 or more day-quarantine with no training and no chance of a good adjustment to the Japanese environment...
  22. they have to be among the registered starters of the doubles tournament...
