  1. And today is the day for Germany. After having 6 straight sprint titles from 2005 to 2012, the next one comes 10 years later.
  2. Will this be the return of Germany, as Vitozzi misses one.
  3. Shocking 2 misses from Simon and the medal is off
  4. Great sprint so far, lots of clear shooting. And Davidova is first with 10/10
  5. Not really surprised, it's more sad and pathetic how even at the World Championships, they can't make a Super-G, that's not barely over a minute long. What, France doesn't have mountains anymore?.....
  6. Don't like joint medals, so someone please get third place now
  7. Gut without a medal and we are heading for another Italian gold
  8. Shiffrin just slightly off Bassino and could lose the medal.
  9. It's another sunny and cold day, which will make for a perfect race. Super-G is probably the most unpredictable discipline with a dozen of skiers with a chance for medals.
  10. There was a "historical" result in the volleyball world this weekend. Of course it's on a much lower level, but for anyone, who loves statistics would probably be interesting. In the top Bulgarian women's division, Maritza Plovdiv lost a match after 7 years and a 145 game winning streak. Out of those 145, 123 were won with 3:0, 19 with 3:1 and only 3 matches ended with a 3:2 win. This speaks enough about the strength of our women's league
  11. It's super weird to start the WC on a monday, but this is what happens, when they want to have only 1 event per day. Especially now, when they have 2 resorts hosting, they could have easily grouped the Super-Gs or Combined's in 1 day.
  12. Will have to check for slalom specifically, but i vividly remember Marc Berthod winning the Adelboden GS in 2007. With BIB 60 he was 27th in first run and then won the race
  13. By the way, it's weird when even ultra liberal Reddit is seemingly taking the sporting aspect. Usually they are the first in the "moral compass" Topic here
  14. Most of the quotas will be awarded in 2024, like it usually is and the ones using some kind of rankings stuff have some additional tournaments in the end as well. They could be added along the way, like any other athletes. The problem is not that a decision needs to be made now. The problem is that whatever decision is made it won't be the end and we will hear about it until Day 1. People wouldn't stop honking and bonking about it and it will shade every damn event...
  15. Sadly yeah, i was hoping this topic would begin at the end of the year, or beginning of 2024, but no, we will get "glorious" 2 years of drama.
  16. What can i say, another brilliant performance and will to win from Novak. They robbed him of the title last year with the political shenanigans, but it just fueled him even more and the emotions showed that. I have seen this over the years, people trying to peg him down, but it just adds more fire in him to prove them wrong and what has made him so successful. I've been a die hard Federer fan for 17 years, but there is truth in Stefanos's words after the final - Djokovic is the greatest player of this sport. Federer had the chance to be this guy, but he missed so many direct matches with Djokovic, which he should have won. I can't count the times i was so angry and had sleepless nights after many painful loses. But in the last 2-3 years, i have put it behind me and accepted, that Federer had a rival, who pushed him to the limit and beyond and learned to respect that. Novak will break the majority of his records and frankly i'm ok with that. Hope he gets to 25 and plays a few more years.
  17. Last time i heard, peak Becker was wiping floors in some other place
  18. UEFA have approved new changes in the National Team competitions. The Nations League is getting more matches, while the World/Euro Qualifiers will have less. New formats for UEFA men’s national team competitions approved The Nations League is getting a 1/4 round before the Final 4, with home and away games being played in the March window. There will also be promotion-relegation playoffs between leagues. The Qualifiers will be decreased to 12 groups of 4 or 5 teams.
  19. Tomorrows night GS is going to be fun with all the slip ups, that happened tonight. Let's see, if Odermatt will compete, as there are rumors he has issues with a knee.
  20. Not, that i have researched that deep how they calculate the points for the starting bibs, but there are people, who never seem to finish, yet race after race are with bib 10 or so
  21. Yeah, i saw some articles about him, when we had our national championships a week ago. I'm definitely not excluding ourselves from the mix, as we have one of the biggest foreign teams around Mnatsakanian, Umarpashaev, Bataev, Magamaev, Abdelslam (even, if he is always injured), now this Ukrainian fellow. Quite embarrassing i would say from a historical plan, but that's how "the mighty have fallen".
  22. Well, anytime people say, that Russia is banned from the 2024 OG, you can mention, that half of the wrestling field is of Russians.
  23. And in true fashion, it will lead to a DNF I don't want to, but i'm beginning to think, that he has reached his ceiling in the 8-16 placing. With the state of Bulgarian sport this is a very good result, but i was hoping he can eventually start fighting for podiums here and there..
  24. Mikaela taking the all time WC wins record was always expected. With the trajectory of her career, it was clear around 2018, that not only will she get the record, but pass 100 wins. We will just have to wait to see, when exactly it will happen.
