    Heartbreaking but at the end of they day we were three goals clear on aggregate and blew it. It’s as simple as that. No excuse for throwing away that large of a lead. It’s so typical of Ireland.

    I think Megan is first alternate. If any of those above her get injured or are not chosen by their NOC than she's in. Not over yet.....

    So for example it could be 48 qualify direct for 800m and than say 5 universality bringing the total to 53? Its just I dont see where on the qualifying document it says this. For Doha Ireland nearly lost a place because a bigger mumber of universality places opted for the 800m. The number qualifying was limited to a TOTAL of 48.

    I am not so sure about that. For example there are 48 places available at 800m. If say 30 meet the qualifying time and 6 athletes are selected based on universality that would leave just 12 places based on Worl Rankings.

    He wont win a medal if he falls in the Pommell Horse! I actually think he may not even bother to enter the All Round. Our other gymnast Adam Steele has a slight chance to qualify there.

    McClenaghans danger is that he could fall. He fell in last years WC and also fell at the most recent World Cup in Paris. I hope he is careful as winning the Olympic quota is far more important than winning a medal here. Both would be nice though.

    Great result for Ireland in qualifying a quota in men’s C1. Especially as the canoeist was the one least expected to do it. Will be a battle now for the place in the team. Very happy after a bad morning with the rugby.

    ut cant an NCO qualify a team of 4 followed bu 1 additional All Rounder and 1 person on apparatus through World Series? In theory an NCO can have 6 gymnasts?

    I hope I am wrong but I really cant see Ireland being in the shake-up to earn any quotas. Perhaps in MC1 we may have a very outside chance but still unlikely.

    I am sure the W4 will be attempting qualification at the final regatta. I think they have a great chance too.

    2 Gold for and hopefully 3 Olympic quotas. In fact Ireland have a chance of 5 quotas but that would be asking too much surely?

    If she keeps improving at this rate Reynolds will be an outside chance for a medal in Tokyo.m

    Two clears for Britain and Belgium and a clear and a 4 for France. Ireland reply with a 12 and a 16. Shocking collapse. Out of it already barring a miracle.
