She had promised the temple’s deity, Luang Pho Sothon, 100,000 boiled eggs if she won gold at the Games. Upon arrival, the temple’s abbot presented the gold medallist with a 9-inch brass statue of Luang Pho Sothon as well as a gold necklace with a gold-encased amulet of the deity.
