  1. Closing Ceremony Welcome to the Closing ceremony! We hope you all had a splendid day yesterday. Having finished off the Opening ceremony with an individual project from Stjepan Hauser, it is only fair that we now check how the other half of the 2CELLOS lives. Luka Šulić launched a new album - Vivaldi: The Four Seasons - in 2019. In the process, he became the first musician ever to arrange this famous concert for cello and the orchestra. Summer is coming. Although, in many ways, it could be a stormy one... Playing just the Summer feels overly Northern hemisphere centric. We therefore asked Luka to play the Winter, too...
  2. As a reminder, the Closing Ceremony and Medal Presentations will be held at the Trsat Castle. Proceedings will start in about 20 minutes.
  3. OMG, now we have the exact same amount of pages like the Corona thread.
  4. Here is the overview of the songs I voted for... 12 points - - Like I said, this song hit the timing on the head. I even said it was my all-time favorite at some point. It's probably not. Maybe it wouldn't have even scored the maximum points otherwise, but it would have scored high in any case. One of my favorite Irish songs yet. 11 points - - That first note is a perfectoin. Definitely my favorite Mexican entry so far. 10 points - - Tillfälligheter apparently means "Coincidences". I did not understand the lyrics, but I'm guessing it's about all the coincidences in life. In that context, it sounded so good. This one grew on me. 9 points - - Before every listen I expected this to lose some places in favor of other songs, but when it came down to the actual listening it always ended up with "Yeah, this is pretty good." 8 points - - Aside from the 3-beat rhytm (3:11 to 3:21 is a perfection for flying changes), I liked the use of instruments, and the fact that you can easily sing along despite the song being in Chinese! 7 points - - I like how this song is quite different, but importantly also engaging in its own way. You will not find me voting for a song that's just unique. I have to enjoy it too. 6 points - - I really liked the sound of this. Another song that grew on me with every listen. 5 points - - Really good start of the song. Probably the biggest climber in my rankings. 4 points - - This one went up and down. I liked the Companhia part in particular. 3 points - - I liked how powerful it sounds. Some really good transitions as well. 2 points - - I give points to Q-Pop on occasion. This one even had some serious lyrics (compared to "Ah! Yah! Mah!" at least ) 1 point - - I desperately wanted to give this some points, and in the end I could spare just one. Reserves: Tunisia and Slovenia grew on me the most after the voting ended.

  11. Right. @Werloc, your lowest winning points record is gone (158 vs 151). But, on the bright side, you keep the lowest ever points-per-jury score for a winning entry (3.95 vs 4.08).
  12. And finally... Thanks everyone for joining the party over the last couple of days. It was so fun watching how the script would unfold in front of you. Congratulations to @intoronto for taking the historic first ever non-European win , and of course to @Vic Liu and @Benolympique @Bohemia for making the podium. I give special thanks to @OlympicIRL for continued support and to @vinipereira for bearing with me in the logo-making process. Special thanks also goes to @IoNuTzZ and @catgamer for giving us our only medals. Of course, I am also thanking you for all those lovely messages you have left, both here in the thread or in PM. Congrats to nations who made the Team podium as well, in particular my team mates @Wumo @Belle @Griff88 See you tomorrow for the Closing Ceremony.
  13. Oh, yeah, this is how the reserve lists looked. Not everyone gave me the reserves, and some gave more nations than others, but you get the general idea. 8 - 7 - 6 - 5 - 4 - And so on.
  14. And finally... I have to give a special mention to @KingOfTheRhinos. He was the last left to vote. Canada and China were literally tied. I waited and waited, even gave him some extra days... And then he awards 12 to Canada and 0 to China. In the end it was 11 points after China won a jury random draw... But nevertheless, what you get for giving someone extra days.
  15. I remember really wanting to award some points to France. And finally I managed to sneak you in for a single.
  16. What about the crazy draw? This happened since lunch... China: 19th > 2nd Norway: 16th > 4th Israel: 36th > 21st Germany: 26th > 13th Mexico: 27th > 14th ... But also... Greece: 3rd > 17th Slovenia: 14th > 28th Netherlands: 6th > 19th ... Mexico (27th at lunch) finishes ahead of Greece (3rd at lunch).
  17. Let's just take a moment to appreciate all the firsts of Croatia 2020... first ever non-European victory first ever podium finish for an Asian nation first ever TISC podium with the non-English songs in majority first ever four-way tie for the lead first Annual edition where the final votes got unveiled one-by-one first time New Zealand defeated Australia, even if by a single point ( @Wanderer ) And probably some more that I forgot...
