  1. 29 November 1997 is the most historical day in Iranian football history, 25 years later let's see what 29 November 2022 brings us
  2. Was that penalty correct in POR/URU match ? really surprised Faghani called it a penalty. he is usually good in these kind of calls. even if FIFA claims that's a penalty per rules, that's nonsense to me, players can't cut their arms when they are falling on the ground.
  3. Kim Kim Kim Kim Kim doesn't work anymore. bring in Lee Lee Lee Lee Lee
  4. and Iran bronze medalist in 2nd pic is Mobina Heidari and silver medalist in the last one is Mehdi Khodabakhshi (not the taekwondo athlete) yes Russia hosted few international events in other sports (including lots of events in wrestling) to keep their athletes in shape. but I assume this so-called "Grand Prix" in Karate was high level comparing to other sports.
  5. oh well these guys are unbelievable. in past few months everybody and their dogs filed a complaint against IFF in FIFA. (obviously FIFA threw them all away) they just desperately want to show, see we can do that too. they also sent another one about the FA for writing iRAN and not IRAN on their shirts for England/Iran match and another one against Klinsmann because of his comments (apparently he works for some committee in FIFA) so be careful guys, Totallympics could be next
  6. Canada would be a much better team with a proper coach, they had to kill Croatia's momentum at the end of 1st half and finished it 1-1. you have to play dirty sometimes but that requires a real coach, not a random guy on the bench. and Croatia showed once again why they are always dangerous.
  7. I happen to watch football (and so many other sports) on different countries sport channels and I have to say almost everywhere (except Iran) they use 2 commentators for almost all sports. which is a good thing to me, 1 commentoator usually misses lots of things. it's hard to watch out for everything while constantly talking I thought only in Iran they use only 1 guy to do the job (which is usually terrible with few exceptions) now you are saying that's not just Iran
  8. Japan is in a good situation but if Germany beats Spain things will get very complicated for them as for Iran, I believe we are still the underdog, we will lose badly the moment we forget that. those non-football related factors are still there. a former NT player got arrested few hours before the Wales match. and again all those keyboard warriors are blaming the current NT players for that (right now they are responsible for every bad thing in the world) but it seems after the total disaster of the first match they learned to only count on themselves. they are good as long as they are ahead (or the score is tied) A total collapse is still very much possible if they concede the first goal.
  9. I stand on my previous opinion opinion that Saudis celebrated too much after the first match. it's OK to celebrate such a huge huge win but you should at least wait until the end of the competition. and publishing the looker room's videos in middle of the competition was another mistake. these kind of things usually backfire. I think they played good today, they lost because of lack of concentration.
  10. I would love to see what Renard is saying to his players right now The video of his motivational speech at half time vs Argentina got viral here and they scored twice at the start of 2nd half, Poles should be careful now
  11. old habits die hard these things won't buy you a red card (for the opponent) in VAR era, but it will take time for Asian players (and Neymar) to get use to it
  12. This is probably the worst Australian team I ever seen yet they managed to beat Peru in the WCQ playoffs and now Tunisia here, impressive results for coach Arnold 4 AFC teams with a win which will keep them alive until the last match, Korea is still alive too with a draw against Uruguay. (obviously Qatar doesn't belong here) I hope some of them (at least 1) advance to the knockout round. funny how some "experts" were talking about the level of Asian teams after just 2 matches. Saudis can seal the deal today but I have a feeling it will be different this time. they celebrated too much after the Argentina match.
  13. I didn't count but I think we have something like 10 daily sports newspapers no need to say that all of them are 95% about football. and Jorginho should be in jail for all those crimes + whoever let him took the 3rd penalty
  14. Jurgen Klinsmann surely will never get a job here his comments on BBC about our "culture" and how we cheat is all over the news. the same person who saw Iran in the Arab Cup !! being a good footballer/diver doesn't make you a good pundit or analyst
  15. don't worry only 3 goals to make up for Rensenbrink's hat trick in 1978. no more. or we can settle it another way, by penalties. both teams have great records in Penalty shootouts.
  16. yes I have RAI on satellite and watched few matches on it (before finding another TV with English commentators, don't laugh Taliban TV !) can't stand Iranian commentators anymore. I prefer any other language over our own (no problem with the language. just don't like the state TV football commentators) he had a short but good time in Iran, was quite popular, I believe you heard his story. there were even street protests in favor of him ! I think Cheshmi who scored the 1st goal was his player in Esteghlal. my Italian is not that good but I think he is mentioning something about nobody expected this guy to score. at the moment no, but Esteghlal is my childhood favorite team. I used to cry for their defeats but that was looong time ago
  17. I highly doubt Azmoun was injured. he is just not fit yet for 90 minutes football.
  18. I swear I never wanted to win a match more than this in my entire life. mostly because of what happened in the first match (which was in unusual situation), don't care about the next match, to me they already succeed (that's just for now. I'm sure I will care in time ) that was a well deserved win and Iran should score earlier and missed so many chances but who could even imagine that Cheshmi of all people can even kick the ball from outside the box, let alone score a goal ! kind of funny that people were talking about Iran as the worst team of the competition. some of Welsh players were talking about the goal difference, yeah good luck next time.
  19. Azmoun can't even run properly, won't last 90 minutes for sure. maybe it was better to use him fresh in the 2nd half. and that unselfish assist was stupid . he could score himself instead of that offside goal I wonder which team will benefit from the draw. none ? but I expect Wales to take more risks in the 2nd half
  20. I wish I knew what's happening in Queiroz mind. first bringing only 25 players to Doha (the only team with one less player) then that super weird squad against England and now only 4 changes comparing to that against Wales. he just keeps surprising everybody. the only thing we can do is to pray Welsh forwards having a bad day.
  21. while our main GK is ready to play with a mask (after his nose being broken against England) still FIFA doesn't let him play because of its head injury protocols he has to rest couple more days. the 2nd GK is totally out of the picture after those 6 goals. the 3rd GK is a bit too short to play against a British team. so people think Queiroz may use his 4th GK tomorrow, now we know why he brought 4 goalkeepers
  22. FIFA should seriously consider increasing the number of AFC teams in the WC. more than half matches not involving an AFC team ended up 0-0
  23. If we count friendlies Iran beat Uruguay few weeks ago Korea can do that too yet Queiroz apparently wasn't happy with that result and only 4 players from that match started against England (actually 3 if we don't count the injured GK)
  24. unrelated question, do you know how Ranking works for Junior events. World Juniors + Continental Juniors can award 90pts together which is significant. it didn't counted for some of our boys in the WR. (they are now senior team members) do you happen to know the reason ?
  25. wow. just wow, what a huge surprise Renard is indeed a great coach, he almost signed with Iran football federation in 2018, just those stupid guys in IFF changed their minds in last minute and signed that charlatan WIlmots instead it's still really hard for KSA to advance from this group but even if they lose next 2 matches they have a very good reason to celebrate
