Tomorrow at the French Open: Mixed Doubles Quarterfinals Paes/Hingis vs (5) Soares/Vesnina (Court 1) Sania/Dodig (2) vs (7) Mirnyi/Chan (Court 2) Both matches are 2nd matches on the respective courts and should start slightly after 3.30pm IST provided there is no rain. Semi-finals are also scheduled tomorrow later in the day. Hoping the Indian challenge does not end tomorrow and in fact we have 2 teams in the finals!

Paes and Matkowski had a few set points at various stages of the 1st set tie-break which they were unable to convert and eventually went on to lose the tie-break 14-12. If they had won any of those set points the story would have been different

Great news from the French Open! After a hard fought victory in the mixed doubles yesterday, 16th seeds Paes and Matkowski won their third round men's doubles match against the 4th seeds and current Australian Open champions Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares 7-6(5), 7-6(4) in a hard fought match lasting 1hr and 41 mins. From whatever I saw of the match, Paes seemed to be in good nick and was easily the best player on court. With this victory they now enter the quarterfinals and surely Paes' ranking should increase. 6th seeds Bopanna and Mergea also entered the quarterfinals in 3 sets 6-2, 6-7(4), 6-1 against the unseeded duo Baker-Daniell. Bopanna would next be in action in some time in the 2nd round of the mixed doubles against the 1st seeds Jamie Murray and Hao-Ching Chan. Sania Mirza is also scheduled to play today in the women's doubles 3rd round.

Leander and Martina win a hard-fought 2nd round match against the 4th seeded Mergea and Shvedova in 3 sets 2-6, 7-5, 10-6 to reach the quarterfinals of the French Open

In the 10m Air Pistol women, Heena Sidhu finished 12th in the qualification round, one point less than the last qualifier. I feel she has it in her to medal at the Olympics. Hope she can pull it off..!

Are you saying that they didn't want Mary in the Olympics and that is why they forfeited? I really hope this invigorates Mary and she gets that tripartite quota and beats the hell out of the Chinese. Would make for a great story!
