    Doesn’t sound like the government are interested as they have urged Australia to find a solution.

    The BOA wouldn’t be able to sustain the pressure if the Government and media really pushed them to boycott. It’s not 1980 anymore.

    Didn’t Victoria 2026 until today? There will be multiple state and federal elections before then any of which could see one of the major parties adopt an anti games position to win votes. Social media and the press is full of demands to cancel Brisbane 2032.

    And now no state government in Australia will bid for it and they have probably made Brisbane 2032 get the plug pulled soon as well.

    feel like every sport being in a different location would be the way to go.

    If I was the IOC I would be getting plans ready incase Queensland and Australia pull the plug on this. Feels like it is heading that way. It seems the games are unpopular in Queensland. And prepare for 2036 to be in Saudi Arabia. Only non democracies will host games in the future.

    Looking online I would not be shocked to see Brianne 2023 axed within a few years.

    I can only see a country wide bid (England/UK or Canada) where every city hosts one or two events. Or they could even try a commonwealth wide event. Decent chance this will happen to an Olympics again at some point.

    Netball be desperate to get into the Olympics if it is as the Commonwealth are the biggest tournament for it.
