  3. 1 Athletics (this year especially the middle distance events plus decathlon and heptathlon), rugby sevens and the men's individual gymnastics. 2 For reasons of family and friends and plus because they're always fun. 3 Tommy Green, a British walker from the 1930s because I love his life story Emil Zatopek, the greatest of all time Ashton Eaton, the greatest of the last 20 years
  4. UCI tweeted this but then deleted the tweet very quickly..
  5. Most interesting fight tomorrow is in the women's 60kg class. Potkonen of Finland, Rio bronze medallist but now 40 years old, versus Dubois of Britain, a 20 year old who has never lost and has won all 6 major World, European and Youth Olympic events she has entered at junior level British experts reckon she could be as good as any female boxer since Shields of the USA and Taylor of Ireland. Of course if she loses that will mean nothing.
  6. I didn't think they were allowed to do that as there had been preliminary round matches in those weight divisions already. Either I was wrong or they have changed the rules.
  7. Virginia Hall Fuchs (USA) - flyweight ?
  8. So all the fights marked 14 March 2020 will be held 4 June 2021? Also at men's super-heavyweight Belberov of Belarus wins over Gardiner of Ireland because the Irishman has withdrawn.

  14. I was told by World Athletics that, if a country has athletes qualifying by the time and by the world rankings. they may choose the athletes who qualified via the world rankings instead of those who qualify via time. For instance if someone who only qualified via world rankings finished in the top 3 at the US trials.
  15. Jacksonville,USA Erriyon Knighton 20.11 I know there are many Jamaicans with the qualifying time but this is significant. Knighton is 17 years old and his time breaks the world U18 200m record. This record was previously held by a runner called Usain Bolt who you might have heard of.
  16. Will there be additional qualifiers from the world rankings for the 50k?
  17. To be fair, Boris Johnson has a great record for taking opposition players out. As seen in a charity football match in 2006
