  1. The last 3 Olympic champions all competing today in the men’s pole vault (Lavillenie, Braz and Duplantis). That’s something you don’t see very often in athletics. I love it when the former winners continue to compete and add a rich history to an event
  2. Sarah Lavin becomes our first athletics qualifier for the Paris Olympics. 12.73 secs for second in the Diamond League today and a new PB too
  3. Sarah Lavin is qualified in the women’s 100m Hurdles
  4. 2nd place for Lavin in women’s 100m Hurdles with a new PB of 12.73 secs! She qualifies for the Olympics too
  5. Out of curiosity, is it still possible for a nation who qualified here to try to qualify another boxer at the same weight at the World qualifying tournaments and then have a choice of who to select? Or is there a hierarchy in place preventing that or how does it work?
  6. Leathan le leathan.... that brings me back . I'm not sure of the linguistic side of things but that's how I make sense of it
  7. The io is pronounced as a slender vowel, as if the o doesn’t really exist.
  8. Exactly that And Caolan is the male equivalent.
  9. One of my colleagues is named Caoilfhionn
  10. Pronounce it like E-fa (the first part is pronounced like the -ee in the word “see” if that makes sense?)
  11. I will keep my fingers crossed for Ela in the WQTs and the other Poles too. It’s heart-breaking when you get so close to the quotas and just miss out. You would think at least a few of them can get over the line at the remaining qualifiers.
  12. I didn’t see the fight, just the result so I honestly hope it was a fair result.
  13. Overall 5 quotas won here for Ireland and you would have to think we will add a few more in the WQTs particularly on the women’s side. Good return overall
  14. Aoife O’Rourke into the final of the women’s -75kg and more importantly gets the quota for Paris 2024
  15. It's time for another update guys! Our men's rugby team will join the women at the Paris Olympics next year. Great day for us!
  16. Yes me made it!!! This makes me so happy because I have tickets for men's rugby at next year's Olympics on 25th July and 27th July so it's amazing I will get to cheer on Ireland!
  17. Bittersweet moment for Irish athlete Sarah Lavin who will be the Irish flagbearer for the European Games. Her boyfriend and international rally driver Craig Breen was killed just 2 months ago. Heartbreaking for her, I wish her all the best https://www.irishexaminer.com/sport/othersport/arid-41163361.html
  18. @hckošice frantically reading the Dick Dastardly guide on how to catch pigeons
  19. Ok, I have gone ahead and opened a poll with a few questions. You can find it here:
  20. Hi everyone! This year we marked the 20th edition of the Totallympics International Song Contest, meaning our beloved TISC has now been with us for 10 years! To mark the occasion we have a few polls to help celebrate the success and longevity of the contest. If you can, please provide some comments in the thread after you submit your responses and to help you remember what your favourite edition was, you can use the Totallympics History thread to re-visit the previous contests. If there's any other questions or polls you would like or have any other suggestions, feel free to make them in this thread! Have fun voting!
  21. I'll ask one more time as we didn't get any response so far. Let us know your thoughts if you are interested in a poll on all the previous TISC winners. If enough people are interested we can make one/ If not we can leave it until another time in the future.
  22. Perhaps the next world super-power allegiance
  23. Not the only one. I’ll let you guess which other country also drives on the left
