Ideologically, he was leftist to the bone. Of course, violence and wars he chose were terrible thing but I wouldnt say they were right wing politics, not necessarilly. In Montenegro, he had many followers until 1991 but also many opponents. After 1991 he was more disliked, I would say that in 2000 only 25-30 % voters approved his politics.
