  1. I'm not sure if I remember the last time that Lithuania actually got 12 points in the contest. Too bad our local stat and history gods @dcro and @OlympicIRL seem to be away right now
  2. I'm kinda surprised with the Danish success, since I thought the song was a bit more towards the indie side of things, whilst I thought that most would gravitate towards pop music.
  3. Thank you, Italy for the 12 points, it was highly highly unexpected, especially since it's a multi jury @SteveParker @Pablita @Henry_Leon
  4. Seriously, Italy just decided to make me feel stupid
  5. Would be iconic, if it's Denmark again
  6. I've no idea what's going on Sidenote: I never learn that Lithuanian language doesn't really resonate here ever, but I still pick it, even after I promise myself I won't
  7. Spanish speaking language bias is a thing in TISC as well, but mostly there are far less countries so it goes unnoticed
  8. I thought it would be between and as they are songs that were fairly popular this year outside of their countries
  9. Points from Kazakhstan, thanks @Ruslan
  10. Lol, I looked at the voting times, got a little bit confused, but at the end of the day, I got a little history fact out of it. When I googled what time is it in Spain right now, to check why we're only one hour apart and how is that possible One of the first suggested searches was "Why is Spain 1 hour ahead of UK", so I'm glad that I was not the only one confused. It's funny that one fascist government decided to change timezones and everybody went along with it for over 70 years now
  11. AUSTRALIA One of the absolute gems that I've uncovered this year just browsing music - Australian singer JOY. If you like the vibes, I highly recommend to listen to her other songs, for example: "Anime" or "Out of Love" JOY. - Alone On The Moon
  12. R.I.P. Valencia Tortoises We're bats now
  13. I want to pick up Australia for the festival of music this year
  14. I didn't really think on who is going to be winning this time until I've read your messages, popular vote could perhaps split between two songs that I have in mind. Would be fun to be wrong, though, because I like the chaos
  15. I need to remember this trivia fact for when Portugal votes
  16. It was about time a week ago, it's not easy this year I'll also use this as opportunity to say that everyone that's planning to vote for Lithuania are safe, because our votes are sent
  17. Finally done with my votes, but will send them a few days later, giving myself extra time to change my mind on things, but I doubt it'll happen by now. Some very unexpected stuff in my scorecard this year, TISC keeps on surprising
  18. Yup, same for me. Perhaps not that many songs that are shockingly good, but many songs that are just solid modern hits and it's difficult to separate them. To make it more understandable, even the song in my 20th place could've scored a point in a different contest.
  19. I feel so far removed from what the Eurofans consider a good song. Personally, I find Finland, Norway and Czech Republic sounding very cheap, but they're hyped liked they're the best thing to happen to Eurovision. Especially the Finnish song from 1:50. What the fuck is that Keiino transition Thankfully Loreen wins the entire thing, an absolute cinematic experience from the very first show. She should've won with Statements too, but this one has more mainstream appeal, so I'm fairly certain that we'll see her in Liverpool.
  20. 2nd listening in, dropped additional two songs, not at all closer to having a satisfying conclusion, might be my longest deliberation if things don't start falling into place soon I don't yet know what separates my 6th from my 16th, those that are in 17th to 21st might get dropped just because of the sheer quality in this year's edition. It's amazing what audio engineering can do these days to songs that might otherwise lack some spark.
  21. And Diana Zagainova got in through the rating system after two additional athletes declined. So three Lithuanian women in the triple jump.
  22. Lithuania decides to eliminate the track from track & field as Morauskaitė is injured and Keršulis is staying in the United States. Our team consists of five athletes: Juozas Baikštys - High Jump (possibly recovering from an injury, not jumping high at all as of yet) Urtė Baikštytė - High Jump (lost to Palšytė last weekend) Jogailė Petrokaitė - Long Jump Aina Grikšaitė - Triple Jump (had her first 14+ meter jump last weekend at the Lithuanian indoor championships) Dovilė Kilty - Triple Jump (lost to Aina)
  23. Yeah, I did my first listening and Annual contests are always so much tougher for me to judge than Open. I only managed to cut 14 songs and that means there's still 23 left in the running. I imagine there's going to be hell ranking 6th-16th Also, I'm enjoying the fact that there are quite a few songs in one specific genre that I prefer
