Still very few Hungarians speak English, we probably have the lowest percentage of English speakers in the entire EU. Shit educational system and many rather learn German as their second language because Austria is the way out for anyone who doesn't want to live here.

Yeah. Initially I didn't care much about it as I felt like COVID screwed these events by pushing the Aquatics and Athletics World Championships into this year, but it's still fun and it feels somewhat meaningful, unlike the European Games.

They know what they are doing, IOC loves "extreme". Next they will put a couple of spikes below them and create some artificial rain and wind. The possibilities are endless. Call it "Extreme Sport Climbing" and you got two more gold medals for your discipline at the Summer Games.

Weren't the Brits kinda terrible in Rowing in Tokyo? It seems they have improved quite a bit in one year.

I guess my "plan" wasn't as smart as I thought. Only the Italians are getting medals for this event, so we couldn't have entered some randos to win the bronze.

I rarely watch rowing so it kinda shocked me that there were only TWO boats in the non-Olympic lightweight event. We could have entered a Hungarian boat with 4 random lightweight guys and we would have the bronze. Wtf is the point of this event if almost no one wants to participate?

I am amazed at how much the Hungarian broadcast is like during the Summer Games. I mean, they are completely all-in on this event, to the point where they randomly start airing live a table tennis women's doubles match in the Round of 64, after which they showed para rowing. These are matches/events you would NEVER ever see live on Hungarian TV if they wouldn't have combined the European Championships into this multi-sport thing.

Oh, wait... Hosszú is OUT in 400 IM. Welp, that's that, hopefully Mihályvári or Jakabos can win 400 IM now that they eliminated Hosszú.

I just hope that Milák will somehow survive today. 100 free final and 100 fly semi in 15 minutes, insane schedule. We should win a couple of medals today in swimming, hopefully a gold medal for Hosszú in 400 IM. Looking forward to see how the Hungarian athletes perform in triathlon and gymnastics.
