  1. Four through to the women’s final so that is guaranteed bronze. Valnes does not look happy with 12th place.
  2. Is this an airport or railway station they’re all starting from? Mind you, here in Edinburgh if you want brutal grey concrete you have to go to the University Library, I can foresee the Army being sent into the mountains to shovel more snow before next week!
  3. Think the question is whether the Tawk family or the Prevc family have more competitors here.

  9. Those two guys look like they know their stuff.
  10. I think Team Totallympics is going to finish 9th! Well done everyone, great effort! Fantastic stuff! Well done @brunamoura. And Jacque gets to sit in the Big Chair!
  11. Think Bruna has paced it a lot better than all those teenagers.
  12. Going to be tense, the good runners are coming through now.
  13. @brunamourahome in 16:14, obviously delighted to get over the line. She’s certainly got a lot of them beaten.
  14. Is everyone here 15 years old or is there something wrong with the computer?
  15. Gets a mention on Eurosport! (Well, the town, not the house-hunting)
  16. I have told this story here before. At the Torino Olympics the very first event on the first day was the Nordic Combined Ski Jumping, which worked on the same principle, lowest number of points jumped first, up to the highest. So the team chose 16-year old Alessandro Pittin in their team, who as a Junior obviously did not have any points at all......and he indeed did have the honour of being the very first competitor in that whole Olympics.
  17. Used to have a window tax. Was very difficult to avoid! We literally still have building with bricked up windows.
  18. Another indoor meet tomorrow - Madrid. Nuguse, Ealey and Tentoglou among stars as Madrid unveils mouth-watering line-ups | PREVIEWS | World Athletics And then the first big outdoor meet of the year from Melbourne, with a decent international cast. Kerley leads cast keen to kick off Continental Tour Gold in style in Melbourne | PREVIEWS | World Athletics
  19. Greg Foster, one of those great 110m hurdlers who never quite got that big Olympic Gold - silver at LA84, but missed out at the US trials a few times. 3 times World Champion, though. https://olympics.nbcsports.com/2023/02/20/greg-foster-dies-olympics-hurdles-track-and-field-ucla/
  20. This was the funny thing about the FISU Games last month - very little competitor interest in the cool, happening youth events the IOC wants to promote. But huge interest in the boring old white guy events like alpine & biathlon.
  21. Once again a crucial role played by the Swedish fat bloke on the hill.
  22. JTB a beaten man.
