  1. I was mocked the last time I said this, but the end point is the destruction of women’s sport. Because where else does it stop? A transgender cyclist won first place at a female race in New York City amid ongoing debates over the inclusion of trans athletes in female competitions. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11892441/Transgender-athlete-46-wins-female-NYC-cycling-event-says-feels-like-superhero.html#comments
  2. Former Arsenal, Chelsea & goalie Peter Čech is now playing (or probably, is back to playing) ice hockey in England. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/ice-hockey/65028727
  3. Seemingly Tauberbischofsheim is the home town (or at least the club where he learnt to fence) of Thomas Bacholympicchampionfencing1976, so this is more than just a a meaningless gesture.
  4. British Team for the European Championships in Ankara in April Men Max Whitlock Harry Hepworth Luke whitehouse Jake Jarman Courtney Tulloch Women Becky Downie Jessica Gadirova Alice Kinsella Ondine Achampong Georgia-May Fenton.
  5. England & GBR field hockey goalkeeper Maddie Hinch. Almost single-handedly kept GBR competitive in the Gold Medal game against Netherlands in Rio 16, then did a hero’s job to help win the 3-3 shootout. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/hockey/65023138
  6. In all the 25 years I’ve been watching biathlon, the second-place Norwegian woman has always stepped up when her senior retired.
  7. Foggy shooting!
  8. Hartweg potentially on a big day at 15/15….. And he does it 20/20!
  9. Foggy day in Oslo, but probably not foggy enough for JTB to shoot 1/5 in 95 secs.
  10. Shiffrin wins the race, the GS Globe, the overall Globe, the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay & the Nobel Prize for Medicine.
  11. Did not realise this, have just watched it - Leman won the last race of his life on home snow! The jury gave him a yellow card! He’ll know not to do that again.
  12. There are two, at least, Craigleiths in the World, one in Canada & the other right here in Edinburgh (formerly a quarry, now a retail park). Guess which one Discovery Plus described as the host of today’s Ski Cross race….
  13. Modern athletics began, partly, with these kind of eccentric British hare & hounds races in 19th Century, (combined with much drinking & betting) so I don’t disrespect them. Wouldn’t be queuing up to watch the live stream though.
  14. Hey, ES Commentator Mike Dixon waxed his own skis. So don’t come crying…
  15. Simple enough to do: define the race piste & say that only athletes entered in the race can ski on that piste in the days preceding the event. If biathletes (or their coaches) are expected to be weather forecasters, then they should be able to choose their own skis.
  16. Run it as a double header, like baseball.
  17. Also: it should be up to the athletes to test & choose their own skis. No more having squads of roadies doing it for you.
  18. They are also big on snooker for some reason.
  19. Here's your TV schedule. As usual, Japanese TV are paying the bills so we'll be seeing a lot of them! Eurosport negotiations lagging as per normal. Otherwise all of everything is on the Curling Channel PPV - but their prices are more realistic that most other PPV sites and you only pay for single games. Broadcast schedule for the LGT World Women’s Curling Championship 2023 - World Curling Federation
  20. Yeah, you're right, just corrected my post. Obviously the 18 months instead of the standard 24 is to allow just that.
  21. No, she would not be able to qualify from the US Nationals. Ooops it's only 18 months backdated, so she returns just in time for the US outdoor season 2023.
  22. Just a reminder that the international left is determined to destroy women’s sports unless the Governing Bodies take decisive action, like World Aquatics have done. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11864437/Transgender-girl-helped-high-schools-track-field-team-secure-state-victory.html
  23. It’s all streaming on YT. https://youtube.com/@ucichannel
  24. Because no-one wants a pan-Slavic games, not even .
  25. No, LJ & TJ pits were always sand - otherwise the judges could not measure the mark. The track itself was cinders or woodchips. Sprinters took a trowel out with them to dig their blocks in! Mexico 68 was the first major games with a plastic track.
