This is always a bittersweet time for me with the games comming to a close. I don't want it to end, but I need the extra sleep and to go back to my normal routine. It's exhausting xD Small day for Canada tommorow, I believe only Reid Coolsaet and Eric Gillis (Marathon), Léandre Bouchard and Raphaël Gagné (Mountain biking) and Haislan Garcia (Wrestling men's -65kg) are the only athletes on deck. Since none of them are expected to be serious medal contenders this is a good time to reflect on just how promissing this crop is going forwoard. The teams in athletics and swimming have improved so much this quad. It more than makes up for the dissapointments in rowing and canoeing (hopefully there will be improvements in these sports). It was also great to see former champions like Rosie MacLennan and Eric Lamaze back up their previous gold medals. I can live with less bronze medals next time though.

There has been a lot of talk about poor or inpolite crowds in Brazil, but the crowd at taekwondo was very good today, chanting for Niger and Nepal.

I'd be okay with adding Lacross, let Canada defend it's two titles!

This women's high jump level was at a very low level. Nice to see Vlasic with another medal.

Nobody bothered to run until the last lap. It was a prime pace for an upset.

Taekwondo is probably the sport that has improved the most over the last few Olympics. Lots of exciting bouts, basicly no controversy and the refs punish passivity aproprietly. To think it was such a farce as late as 2008... Now if Boxing could take some notes.

I think Semenya probably shouldn't be competing against other women but the amount of hatefull and sexist speech directed at her is disgusting. Literally nothing about the situation is her fault, she was born the way she is.

Not his fault the favourites where too busy looking at each other to bother running. They all deserved to lose.

The fact that you can be a terrible show jumper and still qualify for the Olympics in modern pentathlon is sort of concerning. It's really silly, at worlds and world cups they don't even do show jumping in qualifying. Either include show jumping or get rid of it.

With how many people made the finals I am fine with that. As many people cleared 1.93 as where meant to make the finals 12).

The favourites have only themselves to blame for their loss, when you spend too much time watching each other upsets can start happening.

Honestly I think it's more likely we see Greco-Roman wrestling removed to make way for more weight categories in other disciplines than to have women's Greco-Roman added.

Modern Pentathlon is such a farce of a sport, IMO... Also, the riding segment just seems unecessarely dangerous for both horse and rider.

Considering Pendrel crashed in the first lap I'm not quite sure I agree Grest performance from Pendrel to come back from being way back to grab a medal.

Canada in 2012 was DQed due to stepping on the line on a bend. It's different than stepping on a straight.
