  1. Hey, that's what happened last time a Canadian sprinted to finish behind two Russians
  2. You know, if you told me before the games that Canada would have the same result in mens' curling and men's cross country skiing I would have been really happy for Alex Harvey.
  3. Harvey finishes his Olympic career without a medal The sad thing is, his achievements will be completely ignored in Canada because the Olympics is the only time cross country skiing gets any TV time.
  4. A lot of people on social media are wondering why the red course was so unfair xD This is so stupid, they probably made the change for the "casual" viewers but they just made it more confusing for them.
  5. Sure looks like Alex Harvey will finish his career with no Olympic medal
  6. Quote from Jasey-Jan Anderson about course conditions during qualifying: "you see people on TV with rakes, they should be using them instead of just standing on them" xD
  7. What's up with the Canadian sleds? They bleed time at the bottom in the women's race and it seems to be even worse in the four man.
  8. It got closer than expected to the host nation winning this event three times in a row.
  9. Only one sport at Tokyo? That’s going to be too easy.
  10. What’s the next sport Ledecka wants to win Olympic gold in?
  11. First ever Olympic medal in a snow sport for O.o
  12. ...that I disagree with. At least they got to compete for lane choice. But it’s pretty bad.
  13. Canadian comentators: “if one course is faster than the other why aren’t there two runs?” Good question guys.
  14. Anyone care to explain this aweful one run format? The red course is clearly much faster.
  15. I don't know how to feel about it either. They should just have a timed qualification race where everyone at least gets to touch snow ...I do know how I feel about athletics and swimming relay only having the athletes who raced in the finals on the podium: that's complete BS and needs to be changed.
  16. They sure would! Just need to list them as an alternate (max is two alternates). Isn't it just great how consistent the rules are re: who gets medals and who is allowed to stand on the podium (lol @ swimming and athletics where some of the medal winning athletes aren't allowed to be on the podium) from sport to sport?
  17. Lol, Switzerland could have handed someone a free gold medal (they only had one alternate).
  18. Too bad, I actually think Canada had a good shot at a medal. Too bad we had the seeding has no relation to the actual team event...
  19. At least he already has a medal. Really happy for Seb, him bring the third best Canadian really shows the depth we had in this event.
  20. IKR, NI isn’t very strong in alpine.
  21. They should really have times qualifications to decide the bracket.
  22. Hot take: Great Britain beating the USA isn’t an upset considering the lineup.
  23. Gold for Sébastien Toutant, silver for Kyle Mack, bronze for Billy Morgan. Third best Canadian wins it, first ever freestyle snowboarding gold medal for Canada. Really happy for Toutant, he’s had an amazing and long career (so far) and I’m glad he finally has an Olympic medal.
  24. has won the first men’s big air, just a question of which one.
  25. I mean, they are the two most important sports to Canada. I't's hard not to feel disappointed despite the extremely good results in freestyle and figure skating, plus the historic achievements of the luge team. Other than that I feel every other sport either underperformed, did as expected or had disappointments that kind of overshadow the extremely good results (mainly figure skating and short track). It really doesn't feel like out best Olympics (I still think that's Vancouver), even though we've won more medals than ever, though it's certainly been our best Olympics ever in a couple of sports.
