  1. You aren't proud to be an Ice Maple fan?
  2. It is indeed a problem more widely in world sports, and it bothers me in those situations too.
  3. That seems like a you problem, I hold two different passports that don't require a visa for the next three world cups (including the "centennial matches").
  4. qualifying for the Olympics would be very funny, not just because the entire team is that got citizenship through ancestry but also because their lead is a sex toy webstore millionaire who started curling a few years ago with the explicit goal of qualifying for the Olympics. And the thing is they are, actually, quite good and taking it very seriously. Edit: lol, the sex toy guy is now the alternate, they found a new lead who's
  5. I'm not opposed to International federations banning Israel (though *now*, of all times over the past couple years, seems a little suspect), but host countries absolutely should not get to pick and chose which countries get to compete in events they host.
  6. For people in countries with no broadcaster (like ) it's also on the ISU's YouTube channel.
  7. Likelier than not that Algeria doesn’t play a single match in Mexico :P
  8. Bro this is literally a stadium where they play collegial sports xD
  9. Which is extremely embarrassing. Just a pure waste of money to try to get a little bit of good PR. That’s not something a well governed country would ever do.
  10. The women's relay really got bailed out in the QF, they fell on their own, but then also fell.
  11. whatever, but saying that about is insane xD
  12. We all know what is going on with but I am really puzzled with what Chinese weightlifting might be going through.
  13. For the LA simulation I recommend using the year end world ranking, that’s the closest thing Golf has to a "world champion".
  14. Probably the British and US Open. Would have been the ANA Inspiration before it moved to Texas and became the Chevron Championship. That used to clearly be the women's equivalent to the Masters. The Canadian Open and the Olympics are the biggest non-major events.
  15. Qualification is based on the individual world tour ranking per distance, so they wouldn’t.
  16. On top of the Canadians I’ll be rooting for Brendan Corey, who despite representing Australia was born and raised in my hometown ( Fredericton ). If everything goes well he’ll be one of three short track skaters at the Olympics (the other two are vying for spots on the Canadian team).
  17. You’ll be really disappointed because I can 100% guarantee that Ghiotto will not win a gold medal in Cortina (unless I massively f-ed up my travel plans :P )
  18. Also the IOC hates esports and the proposed esports Olympic would be one of the worst esports event ever held.
  19. I've long been in favour of including cross country running and cyclocross in the Winter Olympics. But I think moving indoor sports with no connection to winter sports is a terrible idea.
  20. Exactly. It won’t be dramatically different from "normal" weightlifting. If they can find a way to make it appealing for TV in a way that makes it successful financially it will just get copied by the non "enhanced" competitions.
  21. I’m sorry what? This was not the world championship I was paying attention to today.
  22. That actually makes a lot more sense than setting the number firmly at 16. Only change I really dislike is that there is no time cut for the stroke 50s. Otherwise I think these are all positive or neutral changes.
  23. Which means should get a quota in the pairs event and should get two additional quotas to enter a dance team for the team event (assuming they meet the minimum tech standards).
  24. They honestly need to punish two footed landings more severely. Not just because it’s the sport but for safety too.
  25. I never have any issues with 1, 2 is case by case, 3 I have mostly negatives feelings about, though I’m not fully opposed to it. Also depends on the sport, in figure skating for instance I have no problems with one member of the pair being offered citizenship purely so they can compete at the Olympics with their partner who is from that country.
