  1. Argentina has a bunch of world champions in youth/junior age groups in different sports but none of them are on the level of the teenage superhumans you see coming from China, USA, Canada, Australia, Europe in general, etc. so I would be embarassed to write anything on this thread
  2. If you mean Germany men I would say they are slightly improved from 4 years ago (barely lost to Japan the qualifier final to be core team in the sevens series next season). But now Ireland is taking sevens seriously (made great performances in a couple of tournaments beating some of the best teams in the world) and that is one hell of a tough opponent to add for Germany. The chance is still there, I would say there are 10 teams that will qualify for sure (JPN obviously and AUS, FIJ, NZL, RSA, KEN, ARG, USA, GBR, FRA), so that leaves 2 spots to be contested between Germany, Canada, Samoa, Spain, Russia and Ireland. Six teams for two places but I think Samoa and Canada are slight favorites, so... let's say Germany has around 20% chance.
  3. You keep saying the same every year and it never happens Do you have something against the sport?... I have noted that you also seem to have some feud against India at times, is it related to it? (I mean, because it's an "indian" sport) or it's just the old "hockey code" rivalry because you are canadian?
  4. Chung and Son are here to avoid military service rather than because asian games are important for them This are the most important games after the olympics (a bit better in overall level than pan american), a pity that it will be hard to watch.
  5. Zverev and Dimitrov loss means Del Potro achieves career high number 3
  6. I can feel that sailing medal coming my way. I just need normal, boring, predictable days in the remaining classes I just want one medal to avoid a blank year (I won AO but it "didn't count")
  7. Nacra 17 quotas:
  8. So far I predicted 5/6 correct medalists today. Only missed Wearn (I predicted Burton). Great day for me.
  9. In Argentina all sailors come from either middle class or high class. Regardless, all of them struggle in search for sponsors to keep their careers alive. Even Santiago Lange (who is pretty wealthy in his personal life) can't compete without sponsors help.
  10. France and South Africa rejected boys field hockey quotas which means they will participate in rugby instead. Replacements in hockey will be Austria and Kenya.
  11. There is protest from Jonathan Lobert. We will know soon.
  12. Holy crap, I stopped even looking at finn and laser results because our participants were doing very bad. Good recovery.
  13. I love OG in Asia because I love watching events at 4am for personal life reasons it will be more difficult for me to follow 2020 than it was in 2008 but still, i will enjoy those nights falling asleep in the sofa with a rowing race on tv.
  14. I didn't even know there were countries where they weren't mandatory. How come you don't end up with outbreaks of things like smallpox then?
  15. Am I reading incorrectly or Tita-Banti were disqualified in race 4?there is some kind of protest report when you click in their results.
  16. I don't know, the dutch usually don't screw around against low ranked teams. Ireland has some weapons but the difference in technique is just massive.
  17. Ireland in the final, with respect, is an incredible sucession of strange events. They are here because England somehow didn't win they first two games despite having lots of chances + because Argentina had a bad day against Germany + because Belgium and Germany somehow lost to Spain despite being both better teams than Spain + on top of all that they won two consecutive shootouts! Mind-boggling.
  18. Subscribe entirely to this mediterranean athletes last longer at the top. Same with Belmonte.

  20. Well, congratulations Holland for a new world title.
  21. Surprise: Netherlands did not win a match. Shoot-out incoming.
  22. Is Giles Scott not in the Finn competition? I don't see him anywhere in the results.
  23. A bit late but, hey @Wanderer the laser sailor from Australia is called Tom Burton. Tim Burton is a film director
  24. Well, too bad, the best team today didn't win the match. The girls couldn't convert the chances and Australia defended well. Also in the shootout we had match point but the nerves were too great for our girls (and our captain missing her penalties 3 times...) At least I get full prediction points for predicting for Australia.
