  1. Lol i'm watching argentina-egypt futsal. A egyptian boy scored and did the "shut up" and "ears" gesture to the spectators for absolutely no reason (since the crowd was super quiet until then and barely making noise even) and he did it for like 10 entire seconds! Now he enraged the crowd and there are jeers every time Egypt has the ball. What a dumb kid.
  2. I think it's run off between top two unless the most voted goes over 50%.
  3. The only place in the park that wasn't bonkers-overloaded with people was an scenario with some orchestra that seemingly was playing only video game music (?) I heard some smash bros., pokemon, star fox, metal gear solid soundtracks. I don't get what that has to do with the olympics, but had a little good time there
  4. Just got back home. Only managed to watch hockey today Around 3pm I left the stadium to buy a drink and go watch something else. I tried Swimming... full. Fencing... full. Weightlifting... full. All of them with +1000 people in queue outside the arenas. Then I tried to go back to hockey but there were suddenly 2000 people waiting outside so I lost my place and had no option but to leave the park. Free tickets will do this, but I think today being Sunday made things worse. I will go back on tuesday, hopefully there will be much less people around. Ps. the organization could help everyone if they simply were kind enough to place a "full capacity reached" sign in the entrance of each hall. Many people doing the line didn't know that the venue was full and they were wasting their time. You had to go all the way to the access door and ask the volunteers to get that info.
  5. Hello guys, i'm at the park. The queues are INSANE, so far i could only get into the hockey venue (watching india-austria girls at the moment). The queue for I think it was gymnastics was like 500 metre long. Maybe i will share pictures later in the Facebook group.
  6. When IOC members try to appeal to the youth:
  7. I will murder the fucking director, I swear. And I will film it from an awkward angle with little to no lighting.
  8. ^Campeón olímpico, Esgrima, mil nueve setenta y seis.
  9. ^it's no coincidence, the organizing committee basically hired half of the rio 2016 staff.
  10. I was expecting this. The director must be a total idiot, he can't get one angle right
  11. Probably this channel will show stuff but it's not guaranted: https://www.tycsportsplay.com
  12. There will be parade of nations as far as I know, why else would everyone nominate flag bearers then? There aren't conventional tickets but you need to have a bracelet that has a chip inside to enter the place. Same bracelet you will need for all events.
  13. If you mean the opening ceremony, it's not in a stadium but in the street. And no, i'm not attending it. I will go when sports start on sunday.
  14. Ehh i think it's actually like 50/50, not exactly a miracle. I would even dare to predict he will lose.
  15. Don't quote the entire post aaaaaaahhhh my eyes, some edit please.
  16. Argentina Entry Los Abuelos de la Nada - Costumbres Argentinas Costumbres Argentinas is a song written by singer Andres Calamaro back in 1985 when he was part of a band named Los abuelos de la nada ("the grandpas of nothingness"). It is a very iconic song of the 80s argentine rock and one of my personal favorites, hope someone else likes it too. English Translation
  17. No, no, there are two +50K Stadiums in the city (both River and Boca's stadiums). The thing is they don't have the A standard or whatever it's called that the modern stadiums you see in Europe have. Both stadiums are quite old and haven't had improvements in 2 decades at least.
  18. What you have to understand about the ceremonies is that in the city we don't have a single big +50K stadium with the modern standards required by IOC. Obviously building one from scratch wasn't an option because of cost, but the original plan was to do updates to one of the existing ones. However, all football clubs who own the big stadiums didn't want to collaborate with this because they didn't want to move elsewhere for a year or so. So, the organizers came up with this bullshit opening ceremony in the street (because they had no other option). But because of the utter chaos that the set up for it is causing in traffic these days, they can only do it once (for the opening) and the closing was just discarded.
  19. Not kidding, there will be just some handover ceremony without cameras or something like that and that will be it.
  20. I told you Ajax was good this season. They even had the best chances to win. Really nice football with young energetic players.
  21. 4 days to go... There is almost no interest from the media in this games however all olympic passes available (a little more than 600,000) have already been distributed. So, probably we will see games with little media impact but with full venues for every event. The venues are mostly shitty because they aren't real stadiums, just training centres which they added temporary stands to (and the only real indoor stadium for 10K people in the area of olympic park will be used for... storage...). The opening ceremony will be pathetic and isn't worth my time (I don't care about ceremonies anyway) and I don't want to talk about the closing ceremony not being held because organization ran out of budget... I just hope the park will be good when I go there and that the queues for the popular events aren't too insane, my expectations are low.
  22. Very likely that given their ranking both teams would draw a very tough opponent (as in, one ranked 4 to 6). If it were just one match there would be a little hope but in a home and away playoff I would say such opponent is almost impossible to beat for both Poland teams.
  23. So, nobody is winning medals apparently. Where will those medals go then? To Swaziland??
