  1. All the garbage I had to listen to before I could find anything. I'm going to protect myself and choose one of the two options I had. The other was similar to what Brazil has been sending in recent years, from what I've seen, so I decided to do something different. Well, here's the entry for .
  2. It looks like it'll be a lot of fun from what I've seen. Okay, I'm in.
  3. Brazil has 17 medals so far; we could win a few more in beach volleyball and maybe one of these three if a miracle happens (handball, trampoline gymnastics, and shooting). It's common for other countries, but Brazil is always at full strength in sports, so being able to give some stars a rest and still have a performance similar to Paris 2024 is really cool.
  4. However, despite Brazil's spectacular result, I can only imagine how ugly this sport is. Most fights are decided by one athlete running away for 40 seconds at the end of the match.
  5. 4 medals for us, 7 athletes in the Top 8, 2 titles. It was a fantastic tournament for us.
  6. Brazil is constantly improving in Taekwondo. We usually do well in combat sports, so perhaps in a few more years we can become a powerhouse in that sport and who knows, maybe we can win more than just a bronze medal at the Olympics. I hope we can also grow in Wrestling someday, but that will take a miracle.
  7. Another gold for We had only won one gold medal until this year. Now we've won two in the same tournament.
  8. I don't know if this is related, but when I was in high school, it was common for boys to get together and discuss soccer for hours. It was a common topic in our daily lives. I imagine it's easier to introduce them to a discussion about sports in general. For women, even if a girl liked a sport, it was difficult to find a group that also liked it, since most girls weren't interested. Well, obviously this should be transferred to the virtual environment.
  9. This is the common pronunciation in Rio. Yes, Ramon Menezes was achieving poor results, but he always earned prominent positions. Hopefully, I'll never see him leading another national team again.
  10. Gold for Maria Clara. Fantastic season for her, totally dominant.
  11. Well, he was one of those responsible for the transformation of our women's gymnastics; those who have followed this sport for a long time always give him due credit. But it's not something I see in the media, for example, because the one who was directly involved in the results (Iryna in this case) is usually praised, not the one who initiated the process.
  12. If only Caio had at least a decent PH. But it's hard to have any more ambition when you get an 11 in this rotation. Still, it's nice to see two Brazilians in the top 10 in the qualifiers.
  13. Caio is a finalist in the rings. One day this man will get his medal.
  14. 4th place in Australia for Hidalgo, who won the silver medal in the world championships. A spectacular tournament for him, finishing in the top 4 in every stage except the first.
  15. I still don't understand what certain athletes did to deserve this tournament. The athlete goes to compete in a single routine and ends up being the worst on the team. Good competition for Caio and Diogo.
  16. These are different cases. Russia was banned by the IOC, which does have the right to do so. But if it weren't for that, my opinion would be the same: no other country should prevent them from competing. Indonesia is hosting this championship because it wanted to; as far as I know, no one forced them.
  17. "Sport must remain a safe space for athletes to fulfil their dreams; and athletes must not be held responsible for political decisions."
  18. It's hard to say Flavia isn't under pressure. She's always made mistakes on the beam in major competitions and never manages to perform at her best. Maybe she'll compete on the floor as well. Obviously, these will be our two medal chances here. Julia would need a disaster like Paris 2024 to have a chance. With a lot of luck, maybe Caio on the parallel bars or Nory on the horizontal bar.
  19. Well, speaking of this tournament, our ambitions are a little more modest. The most important thing is to find good options for the team. Rebeca Andrade has already said she won't compete on floor again (although I still have hopes for LA). So finding a solution for that apparatus is important, as is a good second option on vault. In the men's event, Caio and Diogo are certain names, but we'll see if the rest of the team can deliver.
  20. Two days before the tournament starts? I don't think so
  21. I understand Indonesia's political reasons; they are fair, but if a country can't host any other country for a sporting event, it shouldn't have the right to host a competition, not at the level of a world championship. In any case, Israel should be grateful it wasn't banned from all competitions.
  22. It's always exciting when a Portuguese-speaking country has a sporting success (other than Brazil or Portugal). Pretty cool.
  23. No interest in Canada or the USA?
  24. I just hope that Paraguay, hosting the tournament, will do better than just win a gold medal at home. They'll have to improve a lot even in the sports they are decent like golf and rowing.
