  1. Yea which is why it would be favoured for 2027 if Colombia pulls out. We shall see what happens. They have till Oct 29 to confirm.
  2. "The OPC will now work on ensuring that the final athlete quota numbers for the Olympic Games LA28 remain reasonable and below the overall quota for Tokyo 2020." Tokyo had a quota of 11,090. Meaning there would be an additional 590 quota spots for for the additional 5 sports. 32 spots from breakdancing would also become available. 10,500 number from Paris includes MP, boxing and weightlifting. 6 team tournaments for 1) Lacrosse (12*12 teams) = 144 athletes 2) Baseball/softball, 234 athletes (90 in softball and 144 in baseball) 3) Squash = 64 athletes (previous proposals have had this number) 4) Football = (12*12 teams) = 144 athletes 5) Cricket = (15* 12 teams) = 180 athletes =At a minimum 766 quota spots needed. 622 quotas are available, meaning the current sports are going to see a reduction of 144 at a minimum, and could be more if the tea sports get more entries! crazy.
  3. Yea I agree, and it looks like Rio could even step in for 2027. We went from the largest city in a country to the 4th largest for 2027. With the size of these games, I don't think small cities like Winnipeg or Barranquilla can host now.
  4. Squash has always proposed just men's and women's singles for the Olympics.
  5. Not official yet but as good as 100%. There is a very low chance the general IOC members vote against the recommendation from the Eb
  6. There is no news from Winnipeg since 2021, and recently the city has been looking into the 2029 Junior Pan AM Games, don't think they are interested.
  7. Humana-Paredes / Wilkerson into the quarterfinals
  8. I wish Bornan used the same system they did in Hangzhou
  9. After qualifying 9 boxers for Lima, will have 0 boxers here (even though its open entry).
  10. Official announcement here: https://olympic.ca/press/473-athletes-to-represent-team-canada-at-santiago-2023/ 473 is the final total
  11. Interesting. I was hoping for a Canadian sweep, but it looks like 2 or 3 gold at best now.
  12. Canada would be lacrosse imo. For the 2015 Pan Am Games Canada didn't add any sport (only cricket was mooted at one point) so maybe none?
  13. Though not official, team size should be 476 after a few last minute withdrawals. This is exactly one less than in Lima 2019.
  14. Combative sports venue (I like the look, simple and clean)
  15. Some pics of the pool here: Not as good as Toronto or Lima imo
  16. At this point I think we can name a blunder for each NF from Mexico...
  17. Apparently Mexico forget to register its Tennis players https://www.infobae.com/mexico/2023/10/11/tenistas-mexicanos-se-pierden-los-juegos-panamericanos-2023-por-errores-administrativos-de-la-federacion-mexicana-de-tenis/
  18. I can't see these 5 effecting current quotas. And no one has mentioned mp boxing and weightlifting as well. It's just not possible to squeeze all 8 into the current 10500 limit
  19. Richard McBride (shooting) and Abby Dunford (swimming) may have pulled out of the games... team continues to decrease.
  20. Yea they could have easily just added softball and used it to increase the amount of women competing, now with baseball the imbalance will just grow
