  1. I think they still use a shoot-off in the event of ties, but I could be wrong.
  2. It would have been so harsh on her if she had come away empty handed after setting the Olympic Record in dressage. Such a shame about those 0.8 time faults in the first round of jumping.
  3. Oh wait.... didn't Nostradamus say Pidcock was out of it after his puncture?
  4. I don't think he actually watches any sport - just trawls the web for negative stories to post here
  5. Just so we're all on the same page, if Pidcock fails to retain his title, British Cycling will have all of their funding stopped, the Fort William mountain bike trail will be closed and all cycling coaches will stand trial for treason.
  6. Oh man. JJ Chalmers is just embarrassing himself now - he's just said that Collet went through without knocking down a single fence. Having just spotted that rubbish on BBC1, he's now repeated it on BBC2. Surely someone there could have told him he was wrong.
  7. It was towards the end of the course - 21D. It did look a bit ropey and Tina Cook even said she hoped it was OK but the angle for broadcast wasn't great.
  8. OK - so I am a fan of Adam Peaty and I hope he wins this evening, but I am getting really sick of BBC's constant hyping of it. It thought his "interview" with Gordon Ramsay was bad but the filler they're using today is grating on my nerves.
  9. The website is giving me heart palpitations - it was showing Collett as eliminated for a while
  10. Hope you haven't just cursed the team's chances! If either Collet or Canter fall now, I'll be blaming you
  11. I was hoping that Orangehair might have entered into the spirit of the games and drop his constant prophet of doom crap but evidently not.
  12. Think we can confirm that Harry Hepworth has reached the Vault final. He is currently 2nd overall with 14.766 and there are only 4 gymnasts in the 3 subdivision who are completing 2 vaults so he can't be pushed out of the top 8. Jake Jarman is also qualified after Korea's Lee Junho only managed 14.383. Looks like we could have as many as 6 individual finalists in Paris compared to just 2 in Tokyo.
  13. At some point Knibb has to realise that she is damaging her chances in the triathlon with these crashes
  14. I don't think Fraser has quite managed to find the form that he had pre injury but he definitely brings a stability to the squad and barring disasters, you know you're going to have 6 safe routines but not necessarily the kind of scores that will get him into the individual apparatus finals. Totally agree with you that it will come down to who makes the fewest mistakes - as a basic measure, you'd want to be confident that in the final, you're not going to be counting any 12.x scores.
  15. 17.50 is a huge score and about 7 points better than she scored in Tokyo. With 2 riders complete, GB have opened up a 13 point lead over Germany and we still have World Number 1 Ros Canter to come. Of course tomorrow is the day with maximum danger for the team, but it's definitely a case of so far so good
  16. OMG Are we going to have Tom bloody Huddleston at the start of every BBC Olympic programme?
  17. Not hugely surprising - GB outscored the US at 2022 Worlds qualifying but then the position was reversed in Antwerp last year. The teams seem pretty well matched. What I would say was surprising was the size of the gap - normally the two teams are within 1 point of each other so for GB to be over 3 points ahead was probably not expected.
