  3. men finished off their 2025 Eurobasket qualifying campaign with a 96-75 win over in Newcastle this evening. They had already confirmed their spot with victory over last week but they'll be happy to have reversed the earlier 90-82 defeat from the away leg last year.
  4. BBC reporting that Jennifer Gadirova has sustained ACL injury Jennifer Gadirova: Great British gymnast suffers ACL injury - BBC Sport She missed pretty much all of last year through injury if I recall. Still better for it to happen at the start of the Olympic cycle rather than towards the sharp end. In addition, it looks like Courtney Tulloch, Ruby Evans and Charlotte Booth all picked up injuries at the World cup event in Cottbus

  8. For those who are interested, I have been pulling together a calendar of events across the summer Olympic sports (at least the ones where GB are active - sorry any wrestling fans) I'm also in the process of gathering the details of the elite squads so that we can track the athletes we could see in the mix for qualification when Los Angeles comes around. It is still a work in progress so if there are any suggestions for additions, just shout out. 2025 Calendar.xlsx

  10. Is this our first confirmed 2028 qualification pathway confirmed? [World Taekwondo] World Taekwondo Changes Olympic Ranking Points Cycle I think we were already aware that there would be a change to ranking system for LA. It's now confirmed that World Taekwondo are switching to a 2-year ranking cycle. The first ranking period runs from July'24 - June'26 with the second period running from July'26 to June'28. Ranking points from the first phase will be used to determine entry and seeding for Grand Prix events in the second phase. Only the points acquired from July'26-June'28 will count towards Olympic qualification. As per previous cycles, the top five athletes in each of the relevant weight categories based on the Olympic rankings published in January'28 will automatically qualify for the LA Olympics. Another qualification criteria confirmed relates to the Grand Slam Champion Series. In previous qualification pathways, if the top ranked athlete in the Grand Slam merit points was also qualified through the Olympic rankings, the quota was reallocated to the next highest ranked Olympic athlete. For Los Angeles, this quota would be reallocated to the athlete ranked No. 2 in Grand Slam merit points. If this athlete is also within the top-5 in the Olympic rankings, the quota will be given to the next highest ranked athlete in the Olympic rankings.
  11. Have been wondering whether the women will qualify for the World Championships in Singapore. Water Polo Qualification Currently Qualified: Host Olympic Games: Olympic Games: Olympic Games: 3 x Quotas - World Aquatics World Cup Final 2025 3 x Quotas - European Championships 2024 2 x Quotas - Asian Championships 2 x Quotas - American Championships 1 x Quota - African Championships 1 x Quota - Oceania Championships finished 7th in the 2024 European Championships behind and . With Spain and Netherlands already qualified, GB would be 5th in the continental qualifying standings. The next qualifying opportunity comes in April at the World Cup Final where there are 5 European nations in the quarterfinal line up: v v v v With 3 of the 8 nations already qualified, a top-6 finish could be enough to secure qualification. With Greece taking on Italy, we're guaranteed at least 1 non-qualified European nation in the Semis so barring disasters, it looks pretty good for to get a spot in Singapore.

  22. I'd assume that Patrick Huston would go back on to the WCP - he is the highest ranked British Archer in the world currently at Number 28, so it does seem strange that he wasn't on the programme.
  23. The announcement is pretty ambiguous. Pitman said that the first year of an Olympic cycle was "the perfect time to see what else is out there, learn different skills, and to build a new career." She has now joined JP Morgan as an intern but hasn't ruled out being back for LA. Wise on the other hand has said that he "didn't have another 4 years of the grind left to give" - so I'm not expecting to see him in the mix for Los Angeles. He is however planning to compete in some national compound competitions. Finally, Bettles has explained her departure through the lens of injury - "The past few years since Tokyo have been a struggle for me with a string of injuries and struggles with my mental health." So, whilst it is probably unlikely, it's not impossible that she too could be back if that's what she decides she wants.
  24. I don't think the performance squad is finalised yet. GB Triathlon have confirmed the athletes who have been retained on the program but haven't announced any additions yet. I would expect to see Stapely move on to the performance pathway in the next announcement
  25. I don't think so. The individual races were yesterday so would have assumed that if they covered it, it would have been available on the iPlayer by now. But let's be honest, if it's not football. the BBC realy aren't all that interested
