  1. Can also use the 2024 Olympic Qualifier Series - Shanghai, China (olympics.com) - helps to translate the score into the individual boulder efforts.
  2. At the halfway stage of men's street, Joe Hinson is placed 9th. With only the top-16 progressing, it is going to be tight for him to get through.

  4. Great boulder qualifying round for Erin McNiece - she gets 3 top and a high zone to score 84.6. She's currently in 7th with 10 athletes left to compete who could potentially bump her down. Assuming no disasters in the lead round, then she should be well placed to get into the semi final. Molly Thompson Smith didn't do so well, with just 1 top and 1 high zone with 2 low zones. She's going to need something special in the lead qualifying if she is going to pull herself up into the top 20.
  5. Joe Hinson finishes 3rd in his heat for men's skateboarding - street. Still 31 skaters to compete with top 16 advancing to semi finals.
  6. Men's Street Qualifying Group 1 Top-5 1.) Filipe Mota - 79.19 2.) Kristofer Kroon - 77.40 3.) Joe Hinson - 73.40 4.) Kilian Zehnder - 69.33 5) Agustin Aquila - 63.89
  7. Solid boulder qualifying round from Hamish McArthur in what has been a relatively low scoring competition. He is currently sitting in 2nd place with a score of 84.6 points.
  8. Lily Strachan first Brit to compete at the OQS scoring 49.55 for her first run before posting marginal improvement to 50.08. She couldn't improve on that in the 3rd run so she finished 4th in her group and is currently sitting in 5th place overall with a further 22 skaters to compete.
  9. Top-5 from group 2: 1) Nana Taboulet - 67.23 2.) Fay Ebert - 55.46 3.) Emilie Alexandre - 53.41 4.) Lily Strachan - 50. 08 5.) 11. Sky Brown has withdrawn from the Olympic Qualifying Series event in Shanghai ahead of women's park qualifying. She is recovering from knee injury and hopes to return for the 2nd event in Budapest.
  12. Not the greatest of starts to OQS - Sky Brown has pulled out of the skateboarding qualifying event in Shanghai to recover from knee injury. She hopes to return for Budapest leg of the competition.
  13. Quick public service announcement for anyone using the watchathletics.com site to check startlists for upcoming events - it looks like for some events they have been publishing the 2023 start lists instead of the 2024 ones.
  14. UCI BMX Freestyle World Cup - Montpellier Men's Elite: 1.) Anthony Jeanjean 2.) Baios Brandon Loupos 3.) Declan Brooks Women's Elite: 1.) Laury Perez 2.) Miharu Ozawa 3.) Sasha Pardoe
  15. Ahead of the competition getting underway tomorrow, some positive news to bump this thread up the list - Sascha Pardoe, who will be competing in the Women's BMX Freestyle, secured 3rd place at last weekend's UCI World Cup event in Montpellier. Let's hope that is a positive omen for the days ahead.
  16. We're beginning to ramp up the European track and field season with meets now taking place every couple of days. We've seen most of our potential Olympians opening their seasons and the rest are likely to follow in short order. With that being said, it's perhaps worth taking stock of where we are in terms of athletes qualifying for Paris. A while back I shared the list of athletes I thought that our squad would be drawn from. Since then, a few of our junior athletes have had some impressive performances and have put themselves into the mix when it comes to selection. On the flip side, we've also had a couple of confirmed injuries with Tom Gale and Jaz Sawyers now out of contention. I've also added an additional data set - when the athletes are next due to compete. This won't be 100% complete as some events are slow in releasing their start lists and we've seen instances where athletes have dropped out late. For some events, I haven't been able to source the required data. As always, any suggestions or corrections welcomed. Athletics 24.xlsx
  17. Looks like Holly Bradshaw may have withdrawn from the Golden Roof Competition in Innsbruck this weekend - she's showing as "unfortunately injured" on the athlete profile now. Can't see any second source confirmation though
  18. Alex Haydock Wilson will get his individual season under way in the 400m at the Meeting de Montreuil on Thursday whilst Ethan Hussey and Erin Wallace will be going in the 800m.
  19. Not exactly a glorious return to action for Harry Coppell as he fails to get over his opening height of 5.30m at Loughborough Pole Vault meet.
  20. Another one to add to the list starting on Wednesday - Table Tennis European qualifier. Tin Tin Ho and Anna Hursey competing in the women's event but with Liam Pitchford currently out injured, Paul Drinkhall is the sole GB athlete competing in the men's singles.
  21. have announced their short-list of 8 combinations in contention for their dressage team for Paris: Katherine Bateson-Chandler - Haute Couture (#105) Anna Buffini - Fiontini (#78) Adrienne Lyle - Helix (#149) Adrienne Lyle - Lars Van De Hoenderheide (#43) Anna Marek - Fire Fly (#107) Marcus Orlob - Jane (#127) Endel Ots - Zen Elite's Bohemian (#45) Steffen Peters - Suppenkasper (#33) Riders have to compete in minimum of two CDIs before 25-Jun and must compete in at least one of the declared observation events: Le Mans CDI4* Hagen CDI3* Rotterdam CDIO5^ Team selection will be announced by 25-June.
  22. So, the Hypo Gotzis start lists have been confirmed. Jodie Smith joins Mills and Pawlett on the start lists - perhaps surprising given Smith competed at the weekend in . Jack Turner is not competing. If he wants to get the standard for Paris, it looks like he will try to do it at one of the US College meets.
  23. Busy few days for qualification/selection: Rowing - Last Chance Regatta kicks off on Sunday. GB looking to add men's single sculls and women's double to the team. Shooting - European Shotgun Championships start on Thursday with Trap qualifying getting underway on Friday. Sport Climbing / Skateboarding / BMX Freestyle - The Olympic Qualifying Series for sport climbing and skateboarding gets underway in Shanghai on Thursday whilst the competition for BMX freestyle starts on Friday Beach Volleyball - The CEV Beach Volleyball Nations Cup starts at the weekend. Hopefully the Bello brothers and Batrane/Bialokoz can do enough to be in the mix for a quota. Athletics - Hypo Gotzis meeting. Not a selection event per se, but there's not a huge number of opportunities for our decathletes/heptathletes to get the qualifying standards so if you hit here, then you're pretty much guaranteed to be on Eurostar. Holly Mills, Abigail Pawlett and Jodie Smith are scheduled to be competing. Athletics - Night of the 10,000m PBs. This is the official selection event for the 10000m. Both Megan Keith and Eilish McColgan have the entry standard already. Although McColgan isn't competing this weekend, she is pretty safe for selection. Megan Keith is in great form and will be looking to revise her PB in what will be only her 2nd 10000m. Jess Warner-Judd is currently in a qualifying position through the rankings but will be looking to get the entry time of 30:40.00. On the men's side, Patrick Dever is the best placed GB athlete and he will be looking to shave about 9 seconds off his PB set at The Ten in March. Behind him, keep an eye on Charles Hicks (needs 34 second PB) and Zakariya Mahamad who will be looking to join his brother on the GB team. To do that he will need to take 57 seconds off his PB so it may be a longshot.
  24. Sinead McIntosh took gold in women's 50m 3 positions rifle at the ISSF World Cup in Baku this weekend. She also won the event at the first World Cup in Cairo and 4th in the second event in Baku. She's showing the kind of form that she had back in 2019. Is it too much to think she could be heading for a podium in Paris?
