  1. On Choong, he's incredibly disillusioned with how the sport is being governed but he still performs when it matters - he won the World Champs last year and would have won the World Cup Final in Ankara if he hadn't slipped at the end of the run. He'll go into Paris as one of the favourites - the only thing that would stop him getting a medal is if he draws a donkey in the riding.
  2. ETU European Senior Championship - Belgrade Day 4 Results Men's -74Kg: 1.) Daniel Quesada Barrera 2.) Zurab Kintsurashvili 3.) Javad Aghayev 3.) Charalampos Flouskounis Men''s +87Kg: 1.) Caden Cunningham 2.) Ivan Garcia Martinez 3.) Krystian Haremza 3.) Emre Kutalmis Atesli Women's -57Kg: 1.) Nika Karabatic 2.) Jade Jones 3.) Luana Marton 3.) Fani Tzeli Women's -62Kg: 1.) Kimia Alizadeh Zenozi 2.) Aaliyah Powell 3.) Ivana Arelic 3.) Petra Stolbova
  3. All 4 of likely Olympians come away from Belgrade with medals - Gold for Sinden and Cunningham, Silver for Jones and Bronze for McGowan. Would be very pleased if that could be replicated when we get to Paris.
  4. Charlie Aldridge finishes 9th at the Mountain Bike European Championships in . Unfortunately, were outscored by - probably won't be enough for GB to drop out of the top-8 in the ranking but the gap is likely to be down to around 200 points. Only a couple of events to go before the end of the qualifying window. Would have more confidence in our ability to hold on to 8th place if we were to see Tom Pidcock in Nove Mesto in a couple of weeks time.
  5. UEC Mountain Bike European Championship: Cheile Gradistei Men's Elite 1.) Simone Avondetto 2.) Simon Andeassen 3.) Julian Schelb Women's Elite 1.) Puck Pieterse 2.) Mona Mitterwallner 3.) Nina Benz
  6. Given I watched the livestream myself, fairly confident that KJT opened her outdoor season today. Competing in the 100m hurdles at Horst Mandl Memorial . She finished 5th in her heat with 13.68. She's due to go in the javelin later this afternoon
  7. With his 3rd place in Yokohama, Luke WIlliams confirms his place alongside Matt Hauser on the team for Paris.
  8. It's 1000 points for the win and then a deduction of 7.5% - so 2nd place gets 925 points, 3rd gets 855.63 etc.
  9. Both - Like 2023, the winner of World Champ gets direct quota but that will probably be subject to reallocation to the highest finishing NOC who doesn't qualify an athlete through the ranking.
  10. It's 3 for 3 from the Brits in After Matt Hudson Smith won the 400m, Dina Asher Smith takes victory in the 200m with 22.51 and then Zharnel Hughes gets the hat trick, taking victory in 19.96. All 3 victories were within the OQS.
  11. Matt Hudson Smith takes the victory in the men's 400m in Jamica with time of 44.69
  12. WTCS - Yokohama Men's Elite: 1.) Morgan Pearson 2.) Matthew Hauser 3.) Luke WIlliam Women's Elite: 1.) Leonie Periault 2.) Taylor Knibb 3.) Emma Lombardi
  13. ETU European Senior Championship - Belgrade Day 3 Results Men's -68Kg: 1.) Bradley Sinden 2.) Ilia Danilov 3.) Simur Mirzoiev 3.) Levente Mark Jozsa Men''s -80Kg: 1.) Toni Kanaet 2.) Kostiantyn Kostenevych 3.) Nedzad Husic 3.) Maksim Khramtsov Women's -46Kg: 1.) Lena Stojkovic 2.) Dzejla Makas 3.) Viktoriia Nahurna 3.) Phoenix Goodman Women's -67Kg: 1.) Sarah Chaari 2.) Magda Wiet Henin 3.) Aleksandra Perisic 3.) Jolanta Tarvida
  14. I kind of feel sorry for him - he was absolutely desperate to do Eurovision and apparently lobbied pretty hard to get the nod last year in Liverpool.
  15. And yet she could still end up missing out on a place in the Olympic team given the strength we have in the event.
  16. It'll be blamed on Brexit, but the truth is it was a god awful song with god awful staging so it got the points that it deserved. On the upside for fellow Brits, that poor performance should mean that we are saved the prospect of Olly Alexander being the main act at the BBC New Year's Eve concert.
  17. To be honest wouldn't be great loss for Europe if were to withdraw - a friend who saw the performance in the semi-final described it as "watching a lewd act in a grotty public toilet"
  18. Totally agree on Brownlee - there just isn't a strong enough argument to take him in my opinion. He wasn't going to be in contention in the individual event, but equally I don't think he would be willing to play the part of domestique for Alex Yee if it was necessary whereas I think Stapely would be willing and able to fulfill that role. It's disappointing that it doesn't look like he is due to compete again before the end of the qualifying window though.
  19. Start lists for Jamaica Invitational are finally up. Some decent line ups. Events - JAMAICA ATHLETICS INVITATIONAL MEET - May 11, 2024 | AthleticLIVE
  20. So, Brownlee finishes Yokohama in an underwhelming 38th place. GB definitely won't be getting a 3rd men's quota and the selection for the 2nd spot in the team is going to be interesting - especially if the rumours about Izzard being injured are correct.
  21. ETU European Senior Championship - Belgrade Day 2 Results Men's -58Kg: 1.) Vito Del'Aquila 2.) Lev Korneev 3.) Gashim Magomedov 3.) Adrian Vincente Yunta Men''s -87Kg: 1.) Enbiya Taha Bicer 2.) Richard Andre Ordemann 3.) Vasilieos Tholiotis 3.) Artem Harbar Women's -53Kg: 1.) Tatiana Minina 2.) Zeynep Taskin 3.) Andrea Bokan 3.) Ada Avdagic Women's +73Kg: 1.) Lorena Brandl 2.) Nafia Kus Aydin 3.) Kristina Adebaio 3.) Rebecca McGowan
  22. Gymnast, Georgia Godwin to miss Paris after sustaining Achillies injury in training this week.
  23. Possibly because the discus isn't a DL event this year whereas the long jump is.
