  1. Men’s repechage round 4 is also over, here who’s still in contention for the 6 individual quotas: Main Round 4: Repechage Round 5: By my count that gives each surfer a 6/23 chance at an Olympic quota (but like above there’s implications for Spain/France as they can only secure a maximum of two quotas)
  2. Mathea out. Welp looking like Sanoa will be our only surfer at Tahiti this summer.
  3. Event to forget about for We had a good chance at a second women’s Olympic quota, with two surfers having chances (Brooks was a medal contender which makes me even more pissed), but neither one could qualify. Only one that’s still in is Sanoa, but she’s already qualified for Paris. And while we do have two men still in, there’s only six quotas available so I don’t see us winning one.
  4. Women’s repechage round 4 is over, here who’s still in contention for the 8 individual quotas: Main Round 4: Repechage Round 5: By my count, that gives each surfer an 8/15 chance at an Olympic quota (there are some complications to the mix for surfers from Peru/Brazil/Spain as they can only secure two quotas)
  5. Here we go again…
  6. Just got an Instagram DM from one of my favourite Canucks players Elias Lindholm I’m too nervous to open the message right now, so I’ll probably report back in a couple of days with what he said
  7. So I’ve done some calculations: In women’s shortboard (8 quotas), Mathea Olin has a 8/29 (27.58%) chance of qualifying for Paris now (repechage 4) as US/Australia/France aren’t eligible for them, and Peru/Spain/Brazil/Japan/Germany can only grab a maximum of two quotas each (All three surfers from each NOC are still alive, including Tatiana Weston-Webb who has already qualified) In men’s shortboard (6 quotas), Cody Young/Levi Young each have a 6/32 (18.75%) chance of qualifying for Paris now. United States, Brazil and Australia aren’t eligible for them, while France, Spain, Germany and Costa Rica can only grab a maximum of two quotas each. Watch us not win a single quota now
  8. Parallel Giant Slalom WC Krynica | Krynica, Poland Men Gold- Arvid Auner Silver- Maurizio Bormolini Bronze- Alexander Payer Women Gold- Miki Tsubaki Silver- Daniela Ulbing Bronze- Ladina Jenny Full Results
  9. Parallel Giant Slalom WC Krynica | Krynica, Poland Late to updating results yet again, completely forgot Men Gold- Andreas Prommegger Silver- Roland Fischnaller Bronze- Daniele Bagozza Women Gold- Ramona Hofmeister Silver- Julie Zogg Bronze- Michelle Dekker Full Results
  10. has qualified their first athlete in wrestling (men’s 97kg greco-roman) via Kevin Mejia at the Pan American Olympic Qualifier!
  11. Woods beats Gregorich
  12. Greco-Roman Olympic Quotas 60kg: 67kg: 77kg: 87kg: 97kg: 130kg: Actually, @Roamingrover86 quotas go to the NOCs not the athletes so I’d just list the NOCs.
  13. I was 4 years old during Vancouver 2010, the men’s hockey gold medal match was my first ever time watching the Olympics. Obviously I wouldn’t remember anything about it, so since then I’ve watched it back Great match. In terms of events that I actually remember watching live though, you’d have to fast forward six years to Rio 2016.
  14. Greco-Roman Semifinals (2 OQPs in each weightclass) 60kg Raiber Rodriguez v. Dicther Toro Castaneda Yerony Carreras v. Kevin Yuran Rodriguez 67kg Alejandro Sancho v. Nestor Truyol Julian Horta v. Andres Montano 77kg Yosvanys Pena v. Joilson Junior Jair Cuero Muñoz v. Kamal Bey 87kg Daniel Gregorich v. Spencer Woods Carlos Muñoz v. Luis Avendaño 97kg Kevin Mejia v. Carlos Alberto Palmer Luillys Pérez v. Alan Vera 130kg Colton Schultz v. Moises Pérez Yasmani Acosta v. Eduard Soghomonyan
  15. Not exactly sure, I didn’t watch the heat as I was so convinced that she was going to win it (she got a favorable heat, but couldn’t take advantage of it)
  16. Oh geez, not my best day today. I’ll recheck it in a bit.
  17. Top two in each heat qualify for the next round
  18. Men’s main/repechage round 3 is over, here who’s still in contention for the 6 individual quotas: Main Round 4: Repechage Round 4:
  19. Women’s main/repechage round 3 is over, here who’s still in contention for the 8 individual quotas: Main Round 4: Repechage Round 4:
  20. Erin Brooks will not qualify for Paris, after bowing out during repechage 3 at the ISA Surf Games. What a disappointing result, she was expected to potentially contend for an Olympic medal.
  21. Erin Brooks out. What a disaster.
  22. Sorry I meant women’s 400m individual medley
  23. Like I said, Uta Abe in women’s 52kg judo. I don’t have the time to name all “locks” and provide my reasoning on all events that I disagree with, maybe later I’ll do another reply. Other names I would consider to be “locks” include Mondo Duplantis in men’s pole vault, United States women’s basketball, Katie Ledecky in women’s 1500m freestyle (and 800m freestyle if McIntosh isn’t competing in it) and Summer McIntosh in women’s 400m individual medley* diving team sweeping the Olympic gold medals in diving is certainly possible, but they’ve never done it before. Not to mention that the Budapest 2023 World Champion in men’s 10m was Cassiel Rousseau. Along with that, I’d also give chance to a non-Chinese gold in men’s 10m synchro (been seeing a lot of good things from Tom Daley at Doha 2024) In table tennis, is right up there in men’s/women’s team. At Chengdu 2022, Japan took China to a deciding 5th game in the men’s team semifinals, while at Busan 2024, Japan took China to a deciding 5th game in the women’s team final. I also wouldn’t count out in women’s team, they narrowly lost to China in the group stage at Busan 2024 (also a deciding 5th game), although they aren’t very consistent so they might not even make it to a potential encounter against China.
