    We have a guaranteed medal today with Mel/Brandie going for gold in women’s beach volleyball. Sarah Mitton in women’s shot put, Sloan Mackenzie/Katie Vincent in women’s C2-500m, and our men’s 4x100m relay also have medal hopes.

    Agreed. That decision was a bit questionable, to say the least I don’t watch boxing that much but from what I saw Ngamba deserved to win that round (and the bout), especially with the point penalty for Bylon, but a Panama final is a Panama final so no complaints I didn’t want to get an onslaught of quotes coming my way if I was completely wrong, so I decided not to talk about it, glad I’m not alone.

    v. for bronze, and v. for gold. As in men’s handball, hope France doesn’t win gold, after their mediocre group stage they don’t deserve it. For bronze, I don’t really care just hoping for a good match.

    In the women’s competition, Clancy/Mariafe v. Hüberli/Brunner for bronze, and Melissa/Brandie v. Duda/Ana Patricia for gold. In the men’s competition, Mol/Sørum (fuck) v. Cherif/Ahmed for bronze, and Ehlers/Wickler v. Åhman/Hellvig for gold.

    I hate 90% of the US team (after watching NBA for a while, I have my reasons), but rooting for them so Curry can finally win an Olympic gold medal

    Thanks. I was asking because Katzberg had almost a full series of “on purpose fouls” in the men’s hammer throw final after he blasted out to a 84.12m effort in the opening round.

    Were those fouls (besides the first one) due to him losing his balance, or did he purposely foul his remaining attempts, knowing that the throws were clearly not above 89.45m, as to avoid the hassle of having the officials measure it? I didn’t watch the entire final (only the highlight throws shown on my TV), so…

    Congrats on the silver! Although I’m sure you and the rest of India were hoping for a gold, there’s no shame in losing to a 92.97m. 89.45m is definitely not struggling though, he was just barely off his PB today
