  1. Yeah, I'm old enough to remember that too. Podhale was the best Polish team in the mid 90s alas they were even more dominant in the 70s (nine straight titles between 1971-79 ). They still have the most titles overall (19) alas their last one came in 2010 and they're a looong way off the pace these days.
  2. Polska Hokej Liga GKS Tychy - GKS Katowice 4-3 (Best of 7 series) Matches: 2:1, 5:1, 0:2, 3:1, 1:3 0:3, 4:2 This is GKS Tychy's 6th national title (2005, 2015, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2025). Final standings: 1. GKS Tychy 2. GKS Katowice 3. JKH GKS Jastrzębie 4. Unia Oświęcim 5. KH Energa Toruń 6. Comarch Cracovia 7. Zagłębie Sosnowiec 8. STS Sanok 9. Podhale Nowy Targ Top performers (Regular + Playoffs): Most Points: Rasmus Heljanko (GKS Tychy) 68 (29 G + 39 A) Most Goals: Teemu Pulkkinen (JKH GKS Jastrzębie) - 31 Most Assists: Joona Monto (GKS Tychy) - 45 Most PIM: Filip Wielkiewicz (Podhale Nowy Targ) - 116 update for @hckošice Most Points: Emil Bagin (JKH GKS Jastrzębie) 47 (17 G + 30 A), Roman Rac (JKH GKS Jastrzębie) 42 (15 G + 27 A) Most PIM: Samuel Petras (JKH GKS Jastrzębie) - 101 Emil Bagin was the top scoring defenseman in the league. Podhale Nowy Targ won a grand total of ONE match out of 40 in the regular season (also one loss in PSO) for a shattering ammount of 4 points. Reg season winners GKS Tychy had 95 points.
  3. Miami coming up. Fake marina has been joined by some artists' names (from the Brad Pitt movie) being shown in the garage instead of drivers' names. I have no effin' clue who Raye is but there ya go...
  4. Speaking of speedway, Tai Woffinden has a very bad crash in a pre-season friendly and will basically miss the full year and who knows if it affects his career as well.
  5. Zhao Xintong is only an amateur because of his ban which means he had no official ranking (it will change next week ). In fact he's well on his way to make the final after dominating the second SF session vs O'Sullivan.
  6. Lei Peifan beats Kyren Wilson 10-9 in the first round of the 2025 World Championships so the Crucible Curse strikes again. It was a crazy match, Lei lead 2-0 before Wilson won the next six frames in a row only for Lei to win the next seven in a row to lead 9-6. Wilson pulled back at 9-9 but went down in the decider. In qualifying Jackson Page became the first player to score two 147 maximum breaks in the same match.
  7. An overall failure for Poland who was supposed to run away with the promotion especially after Spain lost in the first game of the tournament
  8. Aryna Sabalenka wins the Miami 1000 over Jessica Pegula 7-5 6-2 in the final. This means she further extends her rankings lead and has eclipsed the 10,000 points mark. Now it's clay time, first up Charleston 500 (green) and the iconic minnow Bogota 250
  9. In the end Lanisek who jumped 13 meters shorter from a lower gate and better landing wins the last event of the season. Important feather on the cap for Planica who reclaims the longest jump record from Vikersund
  10. Domen Prevc with the new distance record of 254.5 meters in Planica.
  11. Maciusiak is a budget option for the 'lean years' that are set to kick in. This was planned for many years once Stoch, Kubacki & Żyła retire (or become too old to have good results). We don't have any juniors and the development has been screwed for many seasons now. Results should get even worse especially if Wąsek suddenly drops off w/o Thurnbichler (as he was the only one who clearly profited under TT's coaching).
  12. Dorival Junior has been fired as NT manager. No surprise. The 'Vinicius era' team is probably even worse than 'Neymar era' team
  13. Right, so Kasatkina doesn't even live in Australia let alone marrying a local like Gavrilova or Gajdosova and she doesn't really need the money which was Tomljanovic's reason. Guess permanent residency isn't required when you're a celebrity either?
  14. Coralie Langel has switched to who happen to have a free World Cup spot after Elisa Gasparin retired.
  15. I'm sure FIFA can arrange for Iran to play their games in Canada or Mexico. Back in 1990 England were 'randomly' chosen to play their group matches in Cagliari aka the most difficult host city to access compared to continental Italy to limit the 'fan issues'.
  16. returns to ski flying after 15 years in Planica and Polish media wonder if Kapustik can beat Martin Mesik's NR of 195,5 meters @hckošice
  17. So it's a silver medal for Overall five relays in each final with two teams clearly off the top level made these events quite hollow for lack of a better word.
  18. Last event and maybe the first medal for I mean we really should beat & even without Kaczmarek so 4th place is almost a given and then it's for the medal.
  19. At least Skrzyszowska finally erases Zofia Bielczyk's NR from 1980 (which won gold in European Indoors that year). This was the third oldest NR indoors. Pia sounded happy enough in the interview because of that result.
  20. 7.74 NR for Skrzyszowska but only 4th place. Charlton & Nugent who had slowest SF times take gold & silver Crazy level in the 100H final.
  21. Of course Jeanmonnot made a mistake. She wanted to make a turn while walking? You want to take the turn wide there and Preuss knew what she was doing by making the correct placement herself.
  22. PB for Wielgosz and 5th place in 800 final. Silva stals bronze from Werro on the line.
  23. Terrible finish to a season. A fall to decide the overall World Cup. Very underwhelming.
  24. Jeanmonnot falls down. Way too tight turn there.
  25. Tsegay with a solo run for gold. Hunter Bell gets bronze
