I found out that for an event to be considered official there is a minimum of 3 athletes from different countries. If a country backs out there is a penalty of US$1,000 so probably that's what happened. The regulation does not states anything about not giving medals to the participants if less than 3.
Now all the delegations have won at least 1 medal.

Excellent start of the season! Live timing wasn't ideal, some transponders issues here and there, so while she should have crossed the line first (started 2nd), I didn't see her in the finish list even after 8-9 women finished...luckily then she called and when I asked if she finished, she said she did, so no problems and it was indeed just some transponder issue
Tomorrow it's the 10k classic, first time she does 10k races back-to-back, let's see how that goes Less pressure though, since that one won't count for the Brazilian Olympic ranking, only classic sprint and freestyle distance races count for that.
