Men's American Football NFL 2021

Recommended Posts

Los Angeles Rams beat San Francisco 49ers 20-17 in NFC Championship Game. This was probably Jimmy Garoppolo's last game in SF, he blew two chances for a game-winning FG drive and Matthew Stafford in his first season away from Detroit Lions does make SB with a much better roster.

Really hate how the super bowl is scheduled at the same time as the olympics this year. I don't think I'll have enough screens to watch everything.

The Super Bowl would have originally been a week earlier except the NFL chose this year to extend the regular season.  So the Olympics and Super Bowl would have clashed anyway.  I'll have 3 screens (plus my computer) going, 1 less than the Summer Olympics.  So I should be covered.  Big event that night is figure skating, plus the 4th run of the women's monobob will hit right around when the game is ending.

NBC actually wanted to broadcast this Super Bowl during the Olympics which they also cover in US? They swapped places with CBS because the NBC turn to show the Super Bowl was last year.

Correct.  Both networks saw it as a win.  CBS got the windfall from the Super Bowl a year earlier than they were supposed to, plus it helped the advertising market for the NCAA Tournament and the Final Four (which was on CBS last year, but not this year).  And they wouldn't have to compete against NBC's Olympics coverage.  And because the date of the game only got changed in the last year, NBC got the ISU folks to change the figure skating schedule so they'd get the free dance the night of the Super Bowl

naaa, not going to miss that much...

in conflict with SB, there are only a women's curling round, heat #3 of the women's monobob, the early stages of the free dance and of the women's snowboard big air qualification and the only final we're going to miss live is the women's freestyle slopestyle (with FRA, CHN and EST most likely safe on the podium, probably one of the less exciting events of the whole Games)...

so, watching the SB is a no brainer, even in the middle of the Olympics...;)

Ca. 9 hours until Super Bowl LVI. Either way a feel good story coming, Cincinnati Bengals or Matthew Stafford in his first year away from the lowly Detroit Lions will win. Rams are the slight betting favorites so let's go Bengals! :p

Rams went all in giving draft picks and they were rewarded. Now let's see if other teams follow them.

Deserved for Stafford. Burrow will have more chances in the future I hope.

    • Wrestling will have a completely new format, I do not like the changes. ranking isn't really a good idea in this sport, this will force wrestlers to compete in so many events to collect points. which is not good for their health. specially with the current UWW ranking points distribution system which is plain stupid   they are also gifting 18 quotas to very weak countries by that last qualification event. but I understand their point of view. can't wait to see lots of Russian wrestlers compete for weak countries for that 1 available quota.
    • Canoe Slalom Quotas from men's/women's K1 have been moved to men's/women's KX1. K1 will now have 14 quotas while KX1 will have 10 quotas. C1 remains at 17 quotas. Athletes may participate in other events up to a maximum of 2 athletes per NOC.   The World Championship qualifier has been dropped in favour of the Olympic Qualification Rankings (7 K1, 10 C1, 3 KX1), afterwards you have the Continental Qualifiers (1 per boat) and then a new Global Qualifier (2 per boat).   There were a few changes regarding ways to ensure an athlete can only obtain 1 quota. The biggest being at each stage the boat priority is K1 > KX1 > C1 for the rankings and KX1 > K1 > C1 for the continental/global qualifiers. This basically means if the same athlete qualifiers in multiple boats then the quota will be given to the kayak over canoe.
    • I'll post significant changes periodically. I'll start with the recently added/updated documents.   Archery The addition of mixed compound (12M & 12W) forced a reduction on the recurve side. The mixed compound quotas are distributed as follows   Host - 1 World Championships - 3 Continental Games - 5 World Ranking List - 2 Final Qualifier - 1   To compensate the team events will now only have 8 nations. 2 quotas were removed from the World Ranking List and 2 were removed from the Final Qualifier.   Individual recurve and mixed recurve distribution is the same
    • In Rome, it would be useful to roof the swimming pool complex at Foro Italico, possibly with the option of retracting the roof and covering the tennis court complex. Overall, there's a lot to do, for example, compared to Budapest, but unfortunately, this is Italy How many years has Roma been building their new stadium, and they keep pushing back the completion date- now I read it's 2030? and it should be ready. The same goes for Milan- there should be a modern complex of indoor swimming pools with 50 meters pools, etc., but there's a problem with one stupid football stadium, which will only be built after an ultimatum from UEFA

    • impossible, there are not enough venues in both towns and I mean, Milan doesn't have an Olympic Stadium, a decent Tennis Complex and a big Swimming Complex (not to mention the sea) Rome, on the other hand, doesn't have a Rowing/Canoeing Basin nor arenas and stadiums for the team sports beyond football and rugby there's no chance that all those venues would be built from scratch, meanwhile if we use both cities we already have almost everything we need, especially the most expensive and controversial sites
