I really want to be proved wrong here, what disappoints me is how come she can't develop a decent backhand in 10 years playing at this level, every opponent is targeting her left backcourt and she has no answer

Are you serious? She has medalled in every WC/Olympics since 2013 (except 2015) and she has no answer? She is the current World Champion for God's sake.

Talking about recent form, what has she achieved after that world championships, did she play any final?are you saying she has a good backhand??? I would say her backhand is the worst among the top 10 why she has to play round the head from the left backcourt taking her body momentum outside the court, she is getting caught on the diagonal(has to cover the longest part of the court)on a next return to the right front court. The physical advantage that she has over those Japanese players for example is getting neutralized easily, look at the shot quality of Tai, Intanon, young players like An Se Yong, Chochowong I see the them c playing crisp backhands from backcourt, let me know your counter argument

AFI Media
04 June 2021

New Delhi. The Athletics Federation of India has today finalised Patiala as the venue for the 60th National Inter State Senior Athletics Championships to be held from 25-29 June 2021. The competition will serve as the last qualification opportunity for the athletes for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

During a meeting held today for finalising the venue of the competition in view of ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, it was also decided to organize the competition at two different venues.

Adille J Sumariwalla, AFI President, informed, “We are planning this competition very carefully due to the pandemic situation. To avoid large gatherings at one place, we have decided to host the competition at two different locations in Patiala. Netaji Subhash National Institute of Sports will be the venue for 24 events while other 19 events will be held at Punjabi University grounds. All the mandatory Standard Operating Procedures will be strictly followed and we are not going to provide accommodation to the teams,”.

The federation is also inviting athletes from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Chinese Taipei, Malaysia and Kazakhstan for the competition. Athletes who meet AFI qualification standards for this competition will only be allowed to participate. The entries should be submitted “ONLINE” on AFI Website by the Affiliated States/UT from 10th to 18th June 2021.

Her record this year: Semis in All-England, including a win over Yamaguchi, Finals in Swiss Open, and a win over Pornpawee in WTF finals, Quarters in Thailand and R1 exit in Thailand. She has been in worse form going in Olympics/World Championships in past. She is a big tournament player.

Tai is an excellent player who has great H2H against almost all top players but what is her record in WC/Olympics? Chochowong is not even going to Olympics.

I am not qualified enough to comment which among the top 10 has the best backhand and who has the worst net play and so on. That if Sindhu has such a glaring defect in her play and technique, why is that all the top players find it difficult to defeat her in big tournaments?

Firstly Sindhu has a big physical advantage over most female players, she is the tallest in singles with a strong athletic body, players like Okuhara are more than a feet shorter, she also has strong nerves to go with it, All England this year many didn't play the big player she defeated was Yamaguchi( not taking anything away from Sindhu) who coming after a long time didn't play in Denmark, even Momota lost for the same reason I guess, the match she won against Pornpawee was inconsequential for both,a few weeks later she was beaten in straight games very easily by the same Pornpawee, she played very well in the world championships compensated with speed, but before that over a year she had poor form as a top player. As I mentioned I would be elated if she gets a medal like last time, only thing over a period of time I thought she would be able to manage her backhands better.

There'll be 2 qualification Pools and 4 teams in each with the top 2 teams in each pool advancing to the 2026 WBC.   As a fan of international baseball, words cannot describe how disappointed I am. We are coming off arguably the greatest international baseball tournament in history in 2023 and we are cutting the number of teams in the qualification round from 12 to 8 teams . How do you expect to grow baseball like that? I'm late, as always, but unfortunately I couldn't follow live and I've just finished catching up with the thread.    Congratulations to our winner @Hipooo and to @Belle and @Erigert on their medals.    Well done to our host @Cinnamon Bun, who put up a huge effort managing the contest.   Thank you to everyone who voted for our song and helped us achieve this 5th place.
