India getting 2 Quota till now itself is above expectation. With 8 quotas in wrestling it takes us to all time best contingent in wrestling in Olympics though from less events to maximum to again reduced events this has been the best till now.

Can anyone  confirm whether the 1964 contingent with 13 wrestlers is the highest ever. But this they have qualifications like they have now.

Will it be possible to elaborate

Those days it was not of qualification system but on invitation. Now so many countries so its a broader qualification process is followed. India played football Olympics on invitation n not after qualification.
