This is the first time I am praying that ranking of an Indian player should not be improved. I just hope Bopanna stays out of top 10 and has to go with Leander:p

I don't want him to choose Bhupathi. With him, he can't cross even first round.

In mixed, Bopanna and Sania should team up. That's the best possible combo we have currently. They will get a good seed and realistic chance of a medal as only a couple of wins and you are into medal zone. Paes should stay out of this

In WD, Sania should get rid of Rashmi Chakraborty. She should go with a younger player. Ankita or Prarthana maybe

leander is the only international tennis player with an appearance in 6 olymics ...with Rio that could be 7 ..... a feat I believe may be difficult to touch by any other player ......in the link below go to tennis and see lee's performance

There is no danger of Mirza dropping out of top 10, so we are assured of a pair in WD.

For doubles, NOC can choose any two players as a pair. Combined ranking of the pair is equal to sum of their individual rankings (better ranking between MS and MD is used for each individual). Pairs win quota based on this combined ranking.

There is no chance for second pair in MD as apart from Bopanna no one is ranked high enough. Bopanna/Paes might also be on edge of qualification if both of them dont do well in French Open.

If Bopanna manages to reach top 10, he can chose Bhupathi instead of Paes but IMHO it would be a case of cutting one's nose to spite the face.

Also, its next to impossible to find any reliable simulation rankings for doubles as there are just too many combinations

Thanks for the information was good and accurate ....so bopanna / lee need to do well at french open we could be without a doubles mens  pair ?? ( ouch ) .... but then we could have a male in the mixed doubles in any case based on sania and bopanna scores ???

I think India did not participate. At least should have given a try. Such a shame.

Such a tragedy....in Men's 6/10 teams and Women's 5/8 in such a prestigious tournament...Suppose to be a main qualifier tournament and so many teams withdrawing is bad....

    • Alpine skiing also we have a lot of problems: the men's team is very weak and has been winning a few podiums a season for several years and the our best skier- Dominik Paris is 35. We still have a strong women's team but 3 of the 4 leaders are over 30 (Goggia, Brignone, Curtoni) and Bassino is 28. Another 2 years and we will have the same problem as the men's. There is basically no cross-country skiing without Pellegrino for many years, biathlon is based on 2 individuals with one of them has a 35 years. Vittozzi's injury was enough and we haven`t a single podium this season after 3 stages of the World Cup. As for 1 year to the home games the situation isn`t optimistic.
    • Hail to the Reds... Commanders. First time since 1991 Washington QB has thrown 5 TD passes in a game (which isn't all that improbable in the modern game alas Dan Snyder...)
    • Italy is much better in alpine skiing, in The end all Nations have a Limited Talent Pool. Norway is far better than Sweden/Finland in Cross-Country skiing, alpine skiing and Biathlon, but Sweden/Finland are far better in ice Hockey.  Great Britain wins far more medals than Germany At Summer olympics, but GB is also inexistant in Winter Sports and Most popular Team Sports (Volleyball, Handball, Basketball, Ich Hockey).
    • Thanks, great stat! Tannheimer wont turn 20 until August 2025, so she has The whole Season To Join Kristiansen and Neuner. Too Bad that she was ill this week. I think Galmace Paulin and Tänglander could also do it. I think Grotian (born 2004) is The First female Biathlete born after 1999 To make a World Cup Podium. On The Mens side multiple Athletes (Perrot, Giacomel, Uldal) have already done it.   E. Öberg was 22 and a half when she First won.  Dahlmeier was 21 and a half.   Edit: Grotian only narrowly missed The Podium in The Individual at The 2024 World Championships when she was still  19 year old.
