India to Host men’s World Boxing Championship for the first time

 

India will host the elite men’s World Championship in 2021 besides conducting the women’s World Championship for the second time next year, the International Boxing Association (AIBA) has announced.

Champions Cup Football

 

The inaugural four-nation Champions Cup will be held in Chennai from August 17-27, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) confirmed on Tuesday. The annual invitational tournament will feature St Kitts and Mauritius in addition to India while a confirmation is awaited on the fourth team .

 

It is understood that the tournament will be conducted in a league format and the two teams with the most number of points will contest the final. There will be one match each every two days followed by a rest day.

 

There will be one match each on Aug. 18 and 19, followed by a break and then two matches on Aug. 21 and 22. There will be six matches in all followed by the final on Aug. 27.
