Ah yes, the beautiful unspoilt old-world resort town of Ostend.   Kind of like Benidorm, if Benidorm was cold & windy.

The Oostende authorities had a long 'battle' about whether or not it could be held, but last week or so it was finally given the green light :p

That's going to be a whole, whole lot of sand and other than that a bit of a boring track...if they wanted sand so badly to help Van Aert, they should have gone for the much better Koksijde or for Zonhoven and The Pit

It’s not at the bloody horse-racing stadium is it?

You better make sure your laptop is too far away to be thrown out of the window.

Couldn’t be more flat if they’d pushed 100 snooker tables together.

But there's a bridge! And they go up the bridge twice a lap!

Actually it is not too bad, better than the cross-country running race courses they’ve had there.  Luckily also, it is real Jacques Brel weather.  De zee is grijze, de wind is stomme.  Plus  they are taking full advantage of the single 5m high hill that exists in the whole greater Ostend area.

    • Yes, that's Haaland's cousin Braut Brunes. If he has a bad day Raków is usually scrapping for 1-0 victory unless they concede a goal. Ivi Lopez is the playmaker but he's not as sharp since an injury last season.   Lech & Jagiellonia are the two strongest clubs right now, Raków probably #3. I discount league surprises and of course Legia which is stuck in relegation zone
    • On transfermarkt, Raków is worth 42 million euros and Jagiellonia only 32, but it is known that this is only a theory. On paper, the most valuable clubs in Poland are Lech and Raków: €42 million each. Raków have a strong Norwegian attacker from what I can see on internet.
    • Fiorentina gets another  club Raków Czestochowa in R16     Raków manager Marek Papszun moved to Legia lately and the club is slightly less demanding than Jagiellonia IMO. They're unlikely to score more than 1-2 goals in a game even in our league but have a better defense.
    • Fiorentina must play seriously from the first match, becous they played with a reserve squad in both matches against Jagiellonia, with the exception of extra time in the second. Unfortunately, Fiorentina are still close to the relegation zone in Serie A, which explains the staff decisions in the Conference League. It they advance further, they will probably play against Crystal Palace in 1/4 final.
