Only one Athlete per Nation rule: Keep it? Drop it?

Which would either mean:

1- that the number of olympics athletes will grow tremendously with the cost that comes with it (if you keep the same number of entrants per event)

2- that in many cases, the qualification process will be of much higher standard that the proper event during the olympics.(if you drop the number of entrants per event)

1- I'm totally in favor of increasing the number of athletes by reducing the number of judges and officials (by throwing off the games most of the sports where only personal and highly interpretable judging is the competition's decider...for instance, no more Trampoline and Rhythmic Gymnastics, no more Synchronized Swimming and Synchronized Diving, absolute "no" to sports like Skateboarding, Surfing and Freestyle BMX, no more Race Walking in Athletics - well, that's for another reason, but the final result is the same), with no increase of expense for the organizers of the Games (actually, with a proper policy for infrastructures - no socalled "cathedrals in the desert" - and less pretentious people around, costs should drop)...

2- In most disciplines it's already the bitter truth...so, it wouldn't change much in most cases...

no, I don't like it...but we don't live in a perfect world...:cry::facepalm:

so, if I have to choose the lesser of evils, I still go with the option "keep the limit"...:dunno:

Well, and we are talking about Slalom, where all nations had the chance of sending a member in every event, unlike other sports, so I don't see the point on really complaining.

Giving rich countrys the chance of upraising their chances takes the spirits of the games away.

And let's be honest, most Japanese people will find more interest in watching judo gold medal match between Japan and South Korea for example than between two Japanese judokas (even if they are best two in the World on paper)...

I already enjoy national selection competitions in events where various spaniards can took a spot.

    • With a week to go till the deadline for the world invitational,the rosters look beefy for the discus on both sides.24 entries for the men[19 accepted in so far] and 25 for the women[18 accepted so far] For the men so far there are three 70 meter throwers[i count Denny as that since it's just 4 centimeters off his pb]10 from mid 66 to low 69,three of 65 and over,four from almost 64 to almost 65.On the women's side the 18 accepted throwers all have a pb of over 60 meters.11 of them have  pbs over 64 plus.of the ones still not there besides Valerie and Yaime who have been marketed so i can only assume they will join,such names as  Sandra Elkasevic,Bin Feng,and jordine van klinken aren't signed up yet,jordine's probably the most likely of them to join in tough feng would be a cool surprise,i somehow don't see Sandra doing this,but it would be awesome if she did.Stahl and ceh aren't in yet on the men's side,ceh has been marketed while stahl hasn't been mentioned at all,[pretty sure stahl will not be there],Lukas[last name is too wild for me to even try] and lawrence okoye aren't there yet either but i'm betting both will be joining in.
    • What a shame. That would have been amazing.
    • It's complete American domination in the women's discus rankings so far this year,they occupy the top 4 slots,and the WORST result of those four was achieved at Ramona .Third place currently belongs to Ciera Jackson who had a huge almost 4 METER pr at the west coast relays on friday-64.42[previous best was 60.77 from march of 2023,and she opened her season a week ago with at that time her second best result ever of 60.14]she also had a 63.66 throw to back this new pb up,and finally with her new personal best she took down the school record that stood for 36 YEARS[Btw Valerie Allman actually competed in Ramona on march 30th but conditions were apparently far from ideal and she fouled four times and her best was a 63.61,i don't doubt that in the event that she competes in the  world intational,the conditions will be perfect,i wouldn't be so bold as to say she wouldl get the world record but for sure i think she could get a new personal best.
    • So after finding this this morning     I started to search for more news about the date and ticket prices all over the world web !   I found this then       to just notice later that   it was April fools     so yeah, that was my day
    • Hope we’ll get  qualifying here, and then a combination of  at the OQE.
