Really excellent scores for the two Lithuanian girls in Zakrzow on their 8 year old horses... Heck, :LTU Sysojeva scored nearly 75% !! At this rate, Lithuania will be looking to qualify in both dressage and eventing for the next Olympics. Maybe even a full team in dressage is in the cards. Insane.

Final entries

Olympic champion Jessica von Bredow-Werndl will the favorite for the title. This will be her last competition this year before she sets off on a maternity leave. Triple WC champions Werth & Weihegold look good for silver, but you never know, could be that two Danes end up on the podium instead.

Moldova and Morocco are making their debuts. :cheer: Poland is back after a while, and Milczarek & Guapo are looking good. :)

No new viruses this year. :jawdrop: And unless something comes up in the next two days, looks like the Finals are happening for the first time since 2019 !

In 2020 it got cancelled due to COVID-19, of course, and last year the equine virus EHV-1 came along and caused another last-minute cancellation...

And here is a throwback of the last, 2019 Finals, with the winning ride starting around 3:23:30...

Interesting competition to start. More like an appetizer, since scores are wiped out and the results only really matter for the draw order for Saturday.

The title will go to Jessica von Bredow-Werndl, barring a major mistake, but the battle for silver and bronze will be wide open between Werth and all three Danish girls! Carina Cassoe Kruth was 5th today, but certainly has a chance to go as high as silver.

:DOM Losos de Muniz got so close to the Top 10. :MDA Glinka was trending towards there but late mistakes pushed her down to 14th. Maybe she can bounce back in the freestyle, but still pretty amazing showing for Moldova. :cheer:

    • It may also be that Ceccerelli saw that the conditions in the Italian youth teams were very poor and that is why she insisted on setting up her own team (the results of young Italian skiers unfortunately confirm this). A private team will always be better than a team with 10-12 skiers with max. 3-4 coaches, a one doctor and a physiotherapist. Colturi is the only skier in her team and she has several coaches, a masseur, a doctor etc. Of course, it costs money, but since the parents are famous and have money + Red Bull got involved. I don't understand why she can't start for Italy again? Red Bull should care more that Colturi starts in Cortina under the Italian flag than the Albanian one + Red Bull, as a brand, always has a bigger sales market in Italy with a population of 60 million than in small Albania. I hope that this can still be reversed by next year. For this we need talks between the federation + Colturi's parents + Red Bull + possibly the Italian Olympic Committee. Colturi may be a skier equal to Brignone or even better in the future. We can't lose her, so we have to do now!
    • I`m very disappointed with this weekend. Only becouse of Ghiotto form I`m happy. Unfortunately, the women's team will not function well if Lollobrigida skips most of the training camps and Fontana starts alternately in short tack and long track. It will end with her not winning any medals here or there, because it`s already clear that it will be very difficult to achieve good results in long track. I hope that she understands this, because in short track she has a real chance of winning medals in the women's relay and the mixed relay but in long track not.
    • Tragic performance of the Italian women's team - last place and probably something bad happened at the start. There are so few starts in the team that it will be a problem to even qualify for the World Championships - 8 best teams. After Lollobrigida's return and Fontana's addition, I was counting on much more, but it seems that there are too few joint trainings. With individual quality, we have no right to lose to the Czechs without Sablikova, or anonymous Korea. And unfortunately this start will count for a lot, because there are only 2 more and our chances of playing at the World Championships are minimal. In my opinion with Fontana going from Short Track to Long Trackand vice versa, we won't be much use in the team. Here great teamwork is needed, not improvisation. As of today, there is very little chance that we will qualify the women's team for the games.
    • men advanced to Division A for the first time since 2018 (when they went 1-8). Don't expect much progress next year
    • Ok, but there we are talking about a person who has parents from different countries. Colturi has nothing to do with Albania.
    • There are few people here from Austria, Switzerland, Norway and Finland.
    • The worst editions in XXI century for us were Vancouver: 5 medals (only 1 gold for Razzoli's on the penultimate day) and Sochi: 8 medals (but no gold). Turin was already a prelude to this bad period, although the number of gold medals was ok. Overall we won fewer medals at home than in 2002 and this was probably the only case in the 21st century when the host country won fewer medals at home than 4 years earlier, either in summer or winter. In general the years 2008-2016 were very bad in our sport, both in summer and winter. Only 2018 in Korea was a slight rebuild + 2 fantastic summer editions in Tokyo and Paris. in Beijing 2022 we won a lot of medals - 17 but only 2 gold (If it weren't for Gogga's injury, I think it would have been 4 gold).
    • Totallympics had  users at one point, but I haven't seen any hanging around in a while.
    • In terms of total medals, yes. In terms of golds, I’d be fine with anywhere from 6-8.   @intoronto you don’t think we’ll do better or at least the same? Bit surprising.
